Just finished Quantum Break and I'd say that it's a very good game. It looks, sounds, and plays great. Gunplay and using your time powers is very enjoyable and well done. The story is pretty interesting and the live action episodes are pretty well done over all with some good performances. They may come across a bit tv-ish in quality here and there but they did put some good production values. After a bit you get really drawn into it. Some of the reading of the ingame items you find get a little long winded at times. Really solid game though. 8.5/10

Have you looked at your review scores lately.

Name me one you have an issue with.
Well. I guess I just made a liar out of myself and beat my first game of 2016: Senran Kagura: Burst for the 3DS.
It took a game that proudly flies in the face of everything wrong with the world these days to make me forget my woes and pains and distract me long enough to play it through.
**I'm gonna pay for it in the morning though.**

None. But leave archie and his action loving ways alone. Archies list is amazing, its like a dudebro catalogue.

Im proud of you. Feel better.
Finished The Wolf Among Us on the Xbox One and it was a pretty cool game. Nice artistic visuals and the story was quite interesting. 8/10
Got my first Wii U game on the year done. Finally, I can put Tropical Freeze on the shelf and never touch it again. Fuck this game.
I just wanted to post some Rise of the Tomb Raider screenshots I took.
18. Beat Dark Souls 3 - 8/10
Another Souls game down, another string of me dying, and another group of boss fights down n out for the count. All in all much better game than Dark Souls 2, as well for one none of the shitty things about Dark Souls 2 (adapt stat, the broken hit detection, soul memory, the bland and uninspired boss fights, the fugly world design, the incoherent world design, the mob based nature of the combat in dark souls 2, the general shittyness of its story stuff), about the only thing it might screw up on is that some of the areas in Dark Souls 3 can come off a bit cheap at times, and yeah some of these runbacks are total Dark Souls 2 tier at times, but it wasn't nearly as offensive as Dark Souls 2 at its worst in that department.
The game in general never really hits the lows for me at least, the way Dark Souls did, and Bloodborne did late game. But, I still like it the least out of the Miyazaki Souls games, I understand fan games, I understand people like references, I get that some people adore the whole "love letter to the fans" bullshit in games, personally didn't care for that stuff in MGS4, thought that stuff was dumb when Halo did it with Halo Reach (especially because a greatest hits of Halo ideas, is still pretty shitty), and I'm not fond of the Souls games doing that.
The Demon's Souls reference if anything turns a fight into a joke just so they can go "Remember this thing from Demon's Souls", I love Dark Souls 1, but I didn't need so much of this games world design and scenarios to be "remember this dope thing about Dark Souls, and yeah the Bloodborne impressions are there as well. Listen I agree with anyone that there is a tightness to how Bloodborne does level design, and I don't necessarily need Dark Souls 3 to do level design like Dark Souls, where it's more Metroid in nature. That's cool as a one off.
My bigger issue is that this entire game was devoid of some of the more enthralling atmosphere and unknown that the other 3 Miyazaki games had in spades. Yeah some of the bosses surprise, a lot of them are fun, nothing in this area was as tedious as the hidden village part 2 with the bell maidens, or shoddy as what Lost Izalith is, as I'm not too bothered by the optional areas being a bit more fiendish in nature.
But they game never completely overcame the greatest hits thing, if I was a robot, yeah I'd probably say Dark Souls 3 might be a better game than the other 3 (Demon's, Dark Souls 1, and Bloodborne), but I'm not, I liked my initial playthrough when I had as many questions as I was going, the only questions I have are story related, and I'm #TeamVatiVidya on that one.
Really good game, doesn't quite stack up for me as the others though. So as it stands I think Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne are great games, this one is just really good, and Dark Souls 2 is sh...nah it's aight, it's just got a lot of shitty things about it. Like that it exists.
9/10=great? (Forgotten how you said your ratings work.)
Yes.
1 - Mafia 2
2 - Mega shit
3- Yo, it's bad
4 - Below average
5- Average
6- it's aight
7 - Good
8 - Really fucking good, could have been great, but nah, not there yet
9 - Great, it's a mother fucking classic
10 - Super Metroid
None of your .5 bullshittery either Towers. Fucking; Good Point Five, what nonsense. Did you play The Wonderful 101 yet you ass clown? Don't tell me you're wasting your time playing some fucking point and click.
Nope, still building up as much anticipation as possible so that it can be the most disappointing experience of my life (and yours).
Beat Enslaved on PC yesterday. It was an enjoyable game, even if the gameplay was boring. There's like what, 5 types of enemies, not counting the shielded versions, in the whole game? The 'traversal' ellement was also incredibly boring, although this might be similar for all games in the same vain. Likeable characters, feeble story. Wish more of the game had taken place in the earlier, lush post-apocalyptic city. All in all I enjoyed it, really needed something more action oriented and shorter after Bravely Default. I give it a low 7/10.
Finally beat my first game of the year, Bravely Default on the 3DS. I'm so proud of myself!
I easily spent 120-130 hours on this. I saw both endings. Despite the huge repitition in this game, I enjoyed every minute of it. I liked how you battled a lot of the (optional) bosses multiple times and how there would always be small changes to how the battles played out and how the story got progressively sillier. In true RPG fashion the penultimate boss was a much cooler battle than the final boss. Also liked how the developers implemented the streetpass like functionalit into the final battle.
Save for 2 boss battles and a boss rush mode, I saw everything this game has to offer, outside of the streetpass thing I didn't want to sign up for. I'm probably going to play a few shorter games now, pick up XCX where I left off, and one day buy Bravely Second and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did this game. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
