^Fair enough, I was just giving Robio the other side. If you look at the games I play and beat, you know I have to be a glass-half-full guy 99% of the time, but for some reason this game really annoyed me. This was before the hype for the series too, so it's not like I had heightened expectations.
I actually appreciate the passionate opinions, so I hope that no one holds those back and tries to be diplomatic. Generally you can always find something good and bad and a game but an overall impression is very important to me. If you come out of a game loving or hating it, that's good to know because it means you really had an investment in the game and gave it a good honest try.
My god so you are going to start HD gaming now. I cant imagine being without an HD system for so long. The Uncharted's are awesome, they aren't anything like Tomb Raider, they are cinematic cover based shooter with platforming elements.
MGS4 if you like MGS.
LBP if you like platformers
Infamous is like open world games. Oh and of course GTA4 and Red Dead.
Bioshock, Orange Box, the CoD games for FPSs.
Batman, Assassin's Creed games, Dead Rising, RE5, GoW3, DMC4, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Castlevania, Ratchet and Clank, I am forgetting a ton of other action games.
Demon's Souls if you like action RPGS, or unique games. Oblivion, Fallout 3, FFXIII, are other great RPGS.

For me it has always been a matter of time management. Two systems is really all I ever had time for and for the past 4 years that's been the Wii and the DS. As far as 2011, the DS is on its way out and the Wii's upcoming game list isn't really documented just yet so it's not unreasonable to say it's probably going to be a little quiet at times. So the time finally seems right.
"LBP if you like platformers"
He'd be better off grabbing The Orange Box if that's the case.

GTA4
Bioshock,
Dead Rising,.
The fuck dude? GTA 4? For serious? Just let him get Liberty City stories which is much better and more entertaining. Dead Rising? Sheeeeeet the save structure in that game. Might as well get the sequel instead. Same save structure but its sure to have some improvements.

Nope, sequel only. Probably for the best, anyway.

Why did I write Dead Rising, that was supposed to be Dead Space.
Yes the Episodes are better, right now you can get all three in one game.
I thought the same the first time I tried it, and I gave up on it convinced that it sucked and I wasn't going to ever play it until I really wanted to play ACII (after visiting Florence and Venice last Christmas). What you say is true. There is a lot to hate about it but if you choose not to dwell on that there is also a lot to love about it. If you take a glass-half-full approach with this game then you (in the words of Steel) "will be rewarded" with a delicious beverage.
