Haven’t seen any Xbox Series X or PS5 in stores here, just online. Have seen Xbox Series S in stores a number of times and they keep selling out as soon as they get them. Have been quite tempted to grab one myself but with my sizeable physical collection of games I’m going to need an XSX so just going to hold off and get that. Never got around to getting a PS4 but do have 10 games sitting here for it but just going to get a PS5 and play them on there instead. Probably just going to grab whatever system that I see on store shelves first between an XSX and PS5 at this point.
Ive never seen a PS5 in stock online or locally. I've cooled on getting one.
There's so much that I've missed out on because I never owned a Xbox One so I've played my Series S exclusively since last July. Fantastic value for me.

I can see that angle. Though their backward compatible library is thin. Out of the few hundred XBX and XBX 360 games I have less than 15 are supported.

That's a bummer dude. This generation of consoles will soon outlive the Dreamcast with less than a 10th of the exclusives it had in it's short life.
I can only comment on the Switch Lite. I really love it. It's happier and more compact. I do most of my Switch gaming in handheld form, and the original Switch seems positively bulky when compared to the Lite. So far (hope I'm not jinxing it) I've had zero issues with joystick lag as well, while over half of my 8 actual Joycan have had issues with either the sticks of the shoulder buttons.
I wouldn't recommend it as a primary device because it lacks some of the original's functionality, but as a secondary Switch it's superb.
The PlayStation 5 is mythical and I have no interest in one at the moment. My brother's got an Xbox Series S, but I've got a sufficiently powerful PC, so I practically have a Series X already. Nintendo Switch OLED has been great so far.

i'm interested in the PS5 only insofar as it seems like the HDMI port of my PS4 is damaged, and I need some way of continuing to play Gran Turismo 7. No interest in Xbox or Sdeck. Already have a Switch, don't need another one.
That said, I am far more interested in steam deck than I ever thought I would be.

That reminds me. Still waiting for a Dreamcast Mini, Sega!
And when I think back as to my favourite Switch games, it's not Mario and Zelda.
It's DarkSide Detective and Thimbleweed Park.
So new consoles aren't that appealing. If Nintendo's next console doesn't feature off screen play...
Steam deck???
The era of a new console ushering in brand new standard of games is over. I have had a PS5 at launch and played a total of 3 games on it that you can't play anywhere else, and one of those was a remake. For now it's just a much better version of what came before, like a supped up PC. Incredible loading times, slick interface, everything runs better and looks amazing. The controller is awesome. I love what the console can do but the games are basically the same games you are still playing on your console.
Okay, so I need a reset. Next gen is here, has been for a long time really.. What are your experience and impressions. Here is mine: (Keep in mind I am in Australia)
PS5: Have not seen one in a store. Have not seen one in a house. Therefore, have not only not had the opportunity to buy one but don't know if I would if I saw one.
Xbox Series: See PS5.
Switch Mini: If it's just a joy-con less Switch with a better screen then awesome.
Steam Deck: Too early to tell. You tell me.
