Leo, what are we going to play?

here's a list of things we could easily. Preferably no waggle/handheld, though.

"Things I've never played are in italics.

The Orange Box (lolol, obviously not TF2 on PS3), Rayman 3, Valkyria Chronicles, LKS, Overlord, Deadly Creatures, Disaster, Tekken 6, Rabbids Go Home, Yakuza 3/2, Gran Turismo 5/Prologue, Disgaea 3, Burnout Paradise, Arkham Asylum, Odin Sphere, Devil SUmmoner Soulless Army, RE5, Rayman Origins, LBP1/2, Boom Blox Bash Party, Killzone 3. Yeah, Killzone 3 I'm not only out form, but never really gave a shit about it so did not get good at it except right at the beginning while I was coming to the conclusion that it sucked. When I did I started sucking too. Nyaa

Forgot about handheld games. There's a few of them out too. Korg DS-10 Plus (Nyaa), Elite Beat Agents, Lock's Quest, Virtua Tennis (GBA), The Minish Cap, what's that hotel adventure game that Homer loves called again?

Preferably nothing with waggle. There's good reason that I haven't finished Red Steel 2 yet. Sad Unlike everything else on my backlog... Put handheld games in the waggle category as well."

Going forward I'd love to do just a straight-out score competition with an old school arcade game if any of my future competitors are interested. The following is a list of arcade ports I have on various consoles, though for the purpose of the challenge it shouldn't matter which one it is played on:

  • Burger Time
  • Heavy Barrel
  • Pac-Man
  • Dig-Dug
  • Xevious
  • Galaga
  • Dragon Spirit
  • Athena
  • Ikari Warriors

And I also have a few NES Arcade Classics available on the Wii

  • Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Donkey Kong 3
  • Elevator Action

Hamster quit so you advance to play me.  I won't be back home until next Friday or Saturday where my games largely are, so if we were to do something before then, PC would be preferable.  But there's no rush as we are second round anyway.

I'm not taking part so I don't really have a say, but I find Robio's old-skool arcade (or NES/SNES) highscore challenge much more appealing.  I think that would be something I'd feel more complelled to take part in.  spirit_of_87 used to do this sort of thing on the GGD and give away wiiware/virtual console games as prizes.  We don't need to have prizes, we can just do it for the fun of it.

But it can be separate from this.  We can just decide on one game every fortnight or something like that and anyone who wants can post scores.  At the end of each challenge the top three get points (3 for 1st place, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd) and add the tally over a certain number of games (10?  20?) to have something like a league.

Participants can take turns choosing games, or they can all give all their suggestions at the start and someone we all trust like aspro, yoda or steel can draw one game out of the hat each time as a challenge.  What do you guys think about doing this "oldskool hobo league"?

Ok, next Saturday at some point would be good I think.

Do you have any of the games I listed off to Raven? I'll play any of them if you want to do a round of 1 on 1 deathmatch. Haven't played any of them in ages so that would be interesting. You can even set up the game and rules.
