I think I have to make a confession. There are some games that I've finished that are NOT going to be considered for the top-ten. There are some games I will NOT finish by the end of the year that MAY make the top-ten!
There are some games that are so good that despite not physically having enough time to finish them, they strike enough of the right chords, where you just KNOW they are among your favorites!
^ I feel like that is mostly a given for most everyone.
Let's get these out of the way!

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII PS3
Bravely Default 3DS -- Right in the middle of the game, I experienced such an RPG burn-out that I stopped and never went back to it. Probably a good thing, as a significant part of the second half of this game is replaying all the major events from the first half! Great game but no...
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Wii U -- Wrong place, wrong time. After a pretty bad shoulder injury early in the year, I lost all interest in fast-paced, reflex-based platformers like this one. Amazing game, but not one of my top ten!
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn PS4
CastleVania Lords of Shadow 2 PS3 -- Enjoyable, but I miss old-school CastleVania! Worth playing? Yes! Top-ten? No!
inFAMOUS: Second Son PS4 -- Pretty, but pretty much "Been there, done that!"
Kirby Triple Deluxe 3DS
Child of Light Wii U -- I like the direction the UbiArt Framework engine is going in and the game was pleasant enough, but there were sooo many better games this year!
Valiant Hearts: The Great War PS4 -- Beautiful game, tells a great story, but too sad to be among my top-ten!

Velocity 2X PS4 -- College me would absolutely love this game! Current me likes it, but never makes enough time to play it!
The Swapper PS4 -- I will probably love this game when I finish it next year!

Ninty was. I liked it at first but the motivation to play dropped as I realized a few of the Lives repeated the same mini-games over and over again in order to accomplish their crafts...
Cook, Blacksmith, Carpenter...
It just got to be travel here, gather this, mini-game, travel here, gather this, mini-game... with a WHOLE lot of boring side-quests along the way. Shame.
