I've already said that I think this is the year of goty coming straight from left field. I really want to read a lot of reviews on this before making a purchase.

Wow! I find this surprising, considering you haven't even played it yet!
So, 10/10 or flop?
Yay, another flop...brought to you by Vader's thread title!
ohhhhh myyyyyyyy godddddddddddddddd...
can I request that we stop with the "flop" already?
this place has reeked of 2009 GameSpot trolls since the release of Destiny!

You keep using the term incorrectly. No, stupid garbage GS system wars is not what gets to determine what flop is.
And yes TEW will be a flop, it wont sell well but it will be a critical success. Sales don't matter, Bayonetta 2 will sell like 4 copies and will be one of the best games this year. Flops are the best.

Uh, whether something flops or not is determined by sales expectations. Unless Bethesda and Nintendo are as idiotic as Square they won't necessarily flop. Use the term properly FFS.
I am using it properly, you are not.
a box office bomb or flop is a film that is viewed as highly unsuccessful or unprofitable during its theatrical run, sometimes preceding hype regarding its cost, production, or marketing efforts.[1][2]
That is where the term comes from, Its about sales. Not reviews. And I expect Nintendo expects Bayonetta 2 to sell like 10000 copies... it wont.
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

You know you love it.
No. No I don't. Not at all. I could just go back to GS for stuff like this...

In your post you used it incorrectly (which is exactly what I said). The Evil Within could easily recoup its budget. If The Evil Within doesn't sell well, it doesn't automatically mean it will be a flop; because its budget doesn't necessarily need it to sell well. Your Bayonetta 2 statement was fair but hyperbole. The Evil Within statement USED THE TERM INCORRECTLY BY YOUR OWN DEFINITION OF IT.

Its foolz and I, not GS system wars.

For tongue in cheek fun times?
Uh, good luck with that, Leo.
If you go to GS expecting that...you're setting yourself up for a FLOP.

FTW
Anyway this game looks and sounds awesome. I'll have to wait until after I get Bayonetta 2 before I pick up a copy though.
I had it preordered months ago.
Can't wait....anybody see the commercial for it during The Strain? Badass.

I'll remember this the next time you denegrate the Wii U.
Am appropriately hyped for this game! Interested to see if all the weird promotional stuff that Bethesda's doing out here (including making a horror themed maze at one of the big theme parks and a cutdown version at gaming conventions) is going to help any.
Now to find the bloody time to play it!

Thank you gaf for that!
In less than a week Shinji Mikami’s newest masterpiece hits stores and all impressions point to something extremely special. Mikami’s return to horror has the master mix elements from nearly every popular horror game with the core gameplay elements that made RE4 one of the all time greatest games. Imagine RE4 but more horror focused, less cheesy, less ammo and actual puzzles.
The game takes place in a variety of locations but the main one is a mansion, of course. You will be battling all sorts of monsters as well as be chased by a variety of boss types that hunt you down and can appear at any time or any place.
Some have the game already and impressions have gone like this:
I think RE4 was the best game of the 6th generation of consoles. Its pacing was awesome as you said and this feels no different than that. Yes, so far it does lives up to the legacy of RE4 so far. And in some cases it surpasses it imho. Like atmosphere, art design, characters, story…
There are not many games i could compare this to, it is much more action oriented when compared to the likes of Silent Hill and it is much more serious when compared to RE4. Think of this as an adult man’s RE4. (RE4 fans please take no offense as its one of my favourite video games ever but the story was too shitty or childish for that matter).
So get ready, this maybe the surprise GOTY.
