The single worst final boss I have ever fought in my life!! The person who designed that fight should be fired and sent to create torture devices for death row inmates.
After I unlocked super sonic which you can play in every level. I love doing that, then I tried it, WTF!! Super Sonic sucks, he doesn't move any faster, his jumps dont go far, there is no super sonic music, its an over glorified invincibilitty power up. What happened? Sonic 4 got this right?!?!?! How does this game screw that up.
This game is all over the place. Disappointment.

Yup. Colors is way better.

^ LOL Well this one backfired on me.
Actually I bet you haters would love this one more than any of the ones I like more. Well maybe not Colors. The classic stuff is for the most part well done and most modern levels are very well done. It all the extra stuff, what I consider to be the meat of the game that feels messy. If you guys rent and just play to beat it, its probably a fun ride.

It feels so great to play a well-done Sonic game again. Actually, not only well-done but probably in the TOP 5 of the entire franchise. It's weird, I have this strange buzz just from playing the game for five hours straight, like I have to do everything fast. Think fast, type fast, talk on the phone fast, get a glass of water fast, pee fast, wash my hands fast, re-read and draft this post fast... gotta go fast.

I must have missed the later posts in this thread. I thought Generations was suppossed to be good but it seems otherwise. Shame.

It is good, very good. I just dont think its as good as Colors.

Lets see, I havent reviewed Generations yet cause I still have a lot to do in the game. Normally i am obsessive about Sonic games, this one not so much, that can tell you a lot right there. (That and Zelda happened). I gave colors a 9 or so. This one is more around an 8.5 so about 5-7% worse.
Regarding the scoring system: It's still there. Whether it was patched in or not, I don't know, but it shows you the score during the rating screen at the end of the level.

That doesn't sound bad at all, but some of your impressions make it sound bad in comparison. I might check this out if it becomes really cheap.

Its not, I was just disappointed. I expected this perfect mix of Sonic games and while it succeeds in some areas I feel like it got more simple in others. But do you really care about score attacks and rankings and crap. You should love it.
I don't really care about rankings and scores and stuff.

It was a crap game. If you didn't like Sonic before there's nothing in this game that'll change your mind. And if you liked where Sonic was going with Color's you'll also hate this game since it took away all the good of that game and just served up the same crap we've played for the last 20 years.
