No you should actually buy it. Everytime you daughters act up and do not listen to you, you force them to play that game. That should set them straight right away.

Your pitiful insults don't work here, this one is good.

Funny how low your standards are. If a Mario game scored an 8.0 it would be a huge disappointment. Heck even DKCR scored better. And correct me if I am right, but did Sonic 4 not get similar scores? Yet you hated that one, did you not?

Sonic games and scores don't mix. I have no clue what reviewers want out of these games. All I know is that I love super fast modern Sonic when done right like Unleashed. There is no game like it. So fans of that style will be in heaven with this game.

You will be raising female Vaders.
OMG this is amazing!!!!! Chemical Plant Zone!!! Sonic >>>> Uncharted. This is a love letter to fans. So sad that soon I will move past the Genesis games. The entire game should have been Genesis levels redone. In fact this game proves Sega has done Sonic all wrong, the levels should always have that fantasy feel of the Genesis games not stupid cities.
Just notched up my first hour. Digging so far. Kinda getting my arse handed to me in the Act 2 stuff, but that's more due to my lack of experience with newer Sonic games.
Love the music...more so the Act 1 mixes.
I have played some more and the truth is that I am not feeling it. After the nostalgia factor wears off and you move passed the genesis level it gets simple. This game is very easy and seems short. They removed the scoring system which I loved to master. S ranks are super easy to get. The challenge levels have basic objectives so you can s rank then easily, it's not like a full level where getting an s is a little more complicated. But this game has the best gameplay sonic has seen in years.
That's why this is so weird to me, it's like they made a simple test game instead of a full game. Sonic unleashed was HUGE. Colors has like 60 levels, most are way bigger than any of the challenges that this game uses to fill the game.
Maybe when I start to compete for rankings it will all click. FOr now it's fun but lacking.

Mind=blown. The one time a Sonic game actually is good you don't like it!

I confuse myself sometimes. This one is easy. I like my sonic games long and hard. And insert joke.
Ok I like it again. I played lots of classic sonic back to back without switching and felt like I was playing some weird lost Genesis game. The classic stuff is very well done, even though it doesn't feel like Genesis games at times its way better than Sonic 4. Some of the later levels are massive and feel like those final huge levels of the Genesis games.
Then i go back to modern sonic and enjoy my time there, though its a mix of every 3D sonic. It plays like Unleashed but has moments of Colors in there. For some reason levels have more open space to run around like SA1 which leads to some idiotic fall off the level deaths, not normal ones like a pit of death you have to avoid, the ones where you just fly off the level. Unleashed was far more focused in its level designed. Colors had the power ups and focus on side scrolling that made it so special. This game is kind of lost in a limbo between those elements, but the level design of some levels is incredible, others not so much. The removal of the scroing system hurts me the most as I loved going for high scores, speed runs to me feel like breaking the levels not really playing them. High score runs on the other hand made you master the level, to know every scoring oppertunity and find the perfect master path.
That said speed runs with classic sonic is so much fun! I am ranked 6th in Speed Highway, what a thrill to get through the level untouched and without stopping. There are times I love classic sonic more than modern but then I play some insane modern level that reminds me why I love that gameplay so much. Some missions are a real treat while others feel way too simplistic. I like the game a lot I am just not ready to put it ahead of Colors and in terms of Unleashed I think I liked the day levels more than this games levels. But the game is really fun. Yes this post is all over the place cause I feel all over the place with this game.

I'd rather insert something long and hard.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThis game is disappointing me so far. The only thing it's done is remind me how good the old 2D world was in comparison to the new 3-D ones. If it doesn't get better i'm taking it back to Blockbuster tomorrow and changing it for something else.
Totally stealing a bunch of this from gaf. Thanks to all their hard work!
Welcome to the Sonic Generations official thread! I know most of you still believe the myth that all recent Sonic games are bad, but its not true at all and definetly false about this one. I loved Unleased and Colors, each for their own reasons but noth give great Sonic experiences. Well Sega has been learning from their past mistakes and have made the ultimate Sonic game for fans.
A mix of two gameplay stylles, Clasic and Modern, ALL Sonic ALL the time. Plus it takes you through a journey across all Sonic games, featuring clasic levels redone with stunning graphics. The game has the Genesis gameplay you all remembered and loved and the new Modern gameplay with all its thrills and skill based scoring system.
If you have ever been a Sonic fan YOU MUST GET THIS GAME.

REVIEWS:
"It feels refreshing to be able to say that Sonic is good again. His upward trajectory over the last year continues and he's only gaining momentum. Sonic Generations is largely a game for the most hardcore of Sonic fans, but for the millions who have fond memories of narrowly dodging spikes, grinding on rails, or even that time he was a pinball, Sonic Generations is a game made for you."
Video Games Zone- 8.5
"Sonic Generations may not make the leap back to the top genre, but at least the game is again a serious alternative to Little Big Planet and Co."
Destructoid- 8.0
"In truth, I have to admit that the Modern Sonic levels are actually more fun. While there are some truly enjoyable 2D stages, the contemporary variants are almost always more exhilarating thanks to their sheer intensity. Such highlights include an explosive new take on the Chemical Plant Zone and an utterly gorgeous Speed Highway level. All told, there are surprisingly few duds compared to the overwhelming majority of bad levels seen in most of the recent titles."
3DS Version:
There will be a 3DS version but it comes out on Nov. 22nd. It has levels not featured in the console versions. It will play like a Rush game and its made by Dimps.
