Funny you mentioned digital distribution, that is exactly what I'm doing. Well, digitally publishing. It won't be a web comic. The goal is to generate enough buzz on the net (and local comic book stores) so that a bigger publisher can pick it up (hopefully). That's the long term goal.
And GG, just curious, but why don't you buy comics anymore?

Sure. As long as they have nipples. If they don't, you'll have to draw some crude sketches of nipples and balls over the finished artwork, to make a special Steel Edition.

I used to buy tons, mainly Silver surfer, I had over 100 issues, all of Deathlok, some hulk and spiderman, loved the venom comics. Then there was too much to keep up with and Image started taking over with unfamiliar stuff.
I love the Infinity Gauntlet/crusade/war saga. I got some digital comics off ebay like every spiderman/silver surfer/thanos comic ever made.
Now I'm just out of the loop and would rather look back than forward. I would eventually delve into 400 issues of the X-men. If I had time. I dont.

UPDATE:
Well, here's a sample from the first issue! Like I said, this is a comic I've been developing for many years now. What I mean is, it's a story that's been on my mind since my early days in high school and it's only been in recent years that I developed it more seriously.
After much trial and error, constant re-writes (I think I had about five intros re-written), I feel I finally have a intro that I can use to start this story.
Anyway, here's a sample from the first issue!
By the way, it is more like a manga series than a American comic, even though the storytelling will be like a hybrid of both.
