My Virtual Console topic, spurred on by the release of the Wii, started nearly 5 years ago and perpetuated by my Monday Morning Download topics, was how I met A LOT of you. Part of me is sad to see the state of the Nintendo Downloads these days, but another part of me is looking forward to new beginnings tomorrow too! Yeah, these games suck, but I HAD TO post 'em! How could I NOT? With the opening of the e-store on the 3DS and the unveiling of the successor to the Wii tomorrow, these downloads (for all intents and purposes) represent an end of an era...

No sadness though! Here's to looking forward to the future!

Yeah it's been sad watching this deteriorate. Nintendo played their hand wrong with their downloadable services at the mid-point of its life. Still a lot of great games did get released for both the VC and WiiWare (and I suppose there was about half a dozen DSiWare games worth owning), so I'll never look at them as failures.

Robio Fun Fact for the day: The very first game Robio ever downloaded on the Virtual Console was Solomon's Key.

Thank you for keeping up with these releases all this while.  I read your topic every week and it was how I was informed on what was coming out to see whether I wanted anything.  I agree that over the last year or so, they have been rather dire (which they needn't be as there were a lot more quality games they could have released on the VC).  Oh well ... as you say, onto next things.  I look forward to seeing a good number of quality GB titles rereleased among other things.

I hope you have it in you to keep up your good work for one more cycle of Nintendo products!!!  It would be greatly appreciated

The VC... what could've been.  One day it will exist as I wish it to in my mind.  An endless catalog of every game we still have the ROMs for.
