I gave up on it after about 15 hours or so. I really wanted to like it, and it certainly had all the pieces necessary to make a great game, but after a while I just couldn't force myself to play it. Something about it just didn't gel for me. Characters were just bland, and it seemed to lack that element that drives you to want to see what's next.

I really like the mechanics of the game, very modern and thoughtful.  Mr. Drippy saves the game so far, but also, while the protagonist is bland, I do enjoy his bewilderment and hesitancy.

One of the most poorly paced opening hours though.  Hardly any interactivity and constant shovelling of information.

I really liked it personally.  I put more than 100 hours in.  But after a certain point I realised it was going to be impossible to do all of the alchemy sidequests so I gave up.  Wish there were more RPGs like it

Yeah I played through it and actually platinumed it. I found it to be a good and enjoyable game due to it's mechanics, artstyle, and music. The characters and story didn't do much for me however.

This is one of those 80+ games in my backlog that I really want to play.

Did you play Blue Dragon Arch?  I absolutely loved it, in the same way I am enjoying NNK.

I have thoroughly Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon to the same extent as this one.  NNK has much deeper systems than either of those two, and a lot less charm, but it's early going.  I wish there were a love interest in this one.

Yeah I played Blue Dragon. I really enjoyed that game. Wished they had made a sequel for the home consoles. Sad

I tried Eternal Sonata after NNKN but I couldn't get into it.  I've said I would get Blue Dragon before but I never did.  Need to get on ebay when the spirit moves me one of these days.

I wish level-5 never bothered with the stupid White Knight Chronicles (and why did they need to make a second one??) and they had made some decent RPGs instead.  I love their art and their style

So nine hours in they include an entire pokemon system to the game, and now party members (not just familiars).

This had better be the end of new mechanics for this game, it was deep enough before this.

That's where the game started to break down for me. There are a few more things coming, and when they did I just cut bait.

I'm not minding it, it's just a deep game system for someone like me who usually plays turn-based rpgs.
