Elitist snobs.
We needed it as so much content was NTSC. That said our leap to 720p HD wasn't as big as our PAL TVs already uses 576 lines bitches.
Damn NTSC gamers and their 480 pee wee dick lines.
So true. It's a shame the wii won't play in 576p, but the PS3 does.
PAL progressive? Your TV has to support it though. 720 was such a joke, look at the huge line increase from 480!!!!! Yeah............. we already have 100 more lines and have done for years bitches. PAL rulez.

You playing on an SDTV? In europe we've had dual PAL/NTSCs for years.
I have an old Samsung 1080i HDTV from US. It doesn;t have the ability to go PAL like modern screens.
But PS3s will display in 1080i no problem right so it doesn't matter if the game is from Europe?

Yeah I'm Mr. NTSC.
Oh again I forget, PS3 games are region free no?
They are but my TV's are not. My systems and TV's are NTSC. I don't have any of those fancy bi-TV's that can be noth PAL and NTSC. One day this will be remedied.
Expanding the topic a bit, since I do buy cross-plat, I notice that except when a game is old (like Bioshock) the PS3 games are uniformly higher and less prone to price drops (unless they are games of questionable quality to begin with -- like Hail to the Chimp. Gotta think this whole pricing issue that Sony has with games and their console isn't helping them out.
it's just how it was with the gamecube last generation compared to ps2. if you wanted a game whether gc exclusive or even cross-plat, you had to fork out a good bit more ... and even then you had to consider yourself lucky. smaller userbase = more expensive games i guess since the supply is shorter.
also a lot of games, like bioshock which you mention, are much more recent on the ps3 than they are on the 360 and thus have not been reduced yet.
also, it's quite a well known fact that sony hate gamers

I shall give this a try. If this is the case, then you sir, have opened up a world of possibilities to this colonial offcast.
