As time goes by I have a harder time remembering exactly what happened at each E3, but I can still remember some pretty awful moments.
1. Reggie coming out on stage (probably around 2008 or 2009) and said something to the extent of, "a lot of people are asking why aren't you online? Well, we already are." And then proceeded to remind people that Nintendo had 2 online games (Smash Bros and Kart) and the Virtual Console as a defense of that statement.
2. I think it was at the Kinect showcase, but MS was showing off Madden in some form and they had two guys run out on stage throwing a football to each other. And before one threw the ball to the other he shouted, "LOAD THE CANNON!"
3. Probably around 2013 or whenever Sony was showing off the Vita they anounced to a crowd of cheers that it would have 4G. And then 5 seconds later those cheers turned to boo's when they announced the service would be provided by AT&T.
4. After showing off Valient Hearts, Aisha Tyler returned to the stage waving tears away from her eyes only saying, "the feels.... the feels."
Nintendo pretty much used to either have the best show or the absolute worst show, depending on the year and if they had any games coming out that year.
Maybe that's why they gave up on E3...they used to make themselves look really bad sometimes. Remember 2003 when the showcase Gamecube game was fucking Pac-Man? Yeah, incredible. I seriously feel like this show killed all momentum for the Cube. Then 2004 they crushed it with Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 2, and Twilight Princess. But it was too late for the ol' Cube.
Did SEGA used to have events back in the Dreamcast days at E3? I don't remember.
I hardly remember anything, be it good or bad.
edit: to clarify, 'hardly remember anything of E3'. I don't suffer from Alzheimer just yet. Or at least I don't think I do.

That’s amazing! I’ve got to check that out.

Yes. That show was sooo boring. GCN-GBA connectivity was kind of an interesting idea, but it just didn't inspire at all, especially since Nintendo was pushing it as their alternative to online gaming, lol.

Hey, why play Halo 2 or Socom online with friends, when you can play 1994-era Pac-Man on your Cube locally with just a few Game Boy Advances?
That part about 12 minutes in where Iwata starts trying to downplay tech and downplay the more hardcore games....eww. In hindsight the Wii should have been easy to predict.
Agreed. Should have been obvious the Wii would be great, and the other two consoles a desolate wasteland of shit until near the end of the cycle.

This comment was also easy to predict.

As was yours. It's as if we have somehow gleaned something about one another from interacting over several years.
When the hell is E3 anyway? I'm out of the loop these days.

Just get a room, you guys.
Worst E3 moments were Pac Man vs, just boring. Kaz and his Riiiiiidge Racer moments.
Genji and giant crabs. Anytime an exec broke out a sales chart. Was it Jason Derulo singing off key at a MS event?
Best E3 moments were Twilight Princess and the whole GC conference that year.
So, let’s have some fun and laugh, cry and cringe at the worst of E3.
Which moment did you hate the most? The most atrocious part of E3. Is it Nintendo’s abysmal showing in 2008 or the Sony conference that introduced the PS3. Were you anticipating a new Metroid and got Donkey Kong instead?
