_______________

What I like so far:

  • Avatars kick Mii-Ass. Hands down.
  • Live Arcade Kicks PSN Ass. Hands down. So much more diversity. So many more unique hits!
  • For a systems that is a full year older than PS3 and the Wii, it still holds its own to this day, graphically.
  • The system has evolved over time, adding (speedy) Wi-Fi, for example.
  • The Flaws have been corrected. RRoD
  • The triggers on the Controller are MUCH better than the Dual Shocks.
  • The Live Experience is better than PS3's and the (non-existent) Wii. From Stat and Info filled Profiles to Online Notification. So much more Robust! GamerCards! Games on Demand!

_______________

What I DO NOT like so far:

  • Too much advertising on the Dashboard!!! I CANNOT quickly find my games, save files, games on Arcade, etc. THIS NEEDS TO BE SIMPLIFIED ...and not just Kinected!
  • Point Purchases are confusing.
  • After Reach and Fable 3... what's left?

_______________

More to come as I collect my thoughts!

Pedestrian things such as money are inconsequential to Leo.

Not as much as you'd think, considering a lot of the retail games were Platinum or discounted due to their age!

Reach and Dead Rising were the most expensive at $59.99, then DeathSmiles at $34.98 or something... everything else significantly less!

That makes sense. Which is the cool thing about buying consoles later on because all the good stuff is cheaper. I may do that with the 3DS and wait until the holidays to get one. I'm definitely not going to get one at launch.

But those arcade games add up. I'm sure they're all worth it.

It is such a strange feeling to me to be playing an incredible game (Mass Effect) and to know I have its sequel ready and waiting for me when I am done with it.

Where normally I'd have to wait a few years for a sequel, now I can just eject one and pop in the other.

Rather than have time and other games make my memory of ME1 all hazy and disjointed when I play part 2, now I can pop in the second and immediately be able to enjoy the better graphics, gameplay engine, etc. and be able to fully appreciate first-hand all the advances they made from one to the other...

I've never been able to say that in my life before cause I usually purchase all the games I want, day one!

This will be the case with ME, Fable 2 and 3 and Gears 1 and 2.

I think it'll give me a whole new appreciation for playing these types of games.

I am enjoying THE HELL out of Mass Effect!

I now completely understand the differences between Techs, Biotics and Soldiers, etc.

I love exploring the Planet's surfaces for Minerals, Artifacts and Anamolies in my little Buggie!

There's nothing quite like having the Story/Conversation options of a GREAT BioWare game, combined with Machine Guns and Sniper Rifles!

I'm doing side-mission after side-mission after side-mission and not minding a single minute of it. I think I have put close to 24 hours into the game already!

I am a Paragon, of course, but this is the type of game I'd like to replay as a bad-boy, just to see how it changes! I'd also like to see how major the difference is between playing as a Soldier vs. a Biotic.

Glad you're enjoying it. I know you're mostly into JRPGs like I am. But once in awhile I do enjoy WRPGs.

Mass Effect 2 is pretty good. I think you'll love that once you're through with ME1.

Also, you're probably wondering why my Game Profile looks so bare. It's my 2nd account. I made it for non-family members and for any visitors who wanted to play my 360. But don't worry, it's definitely mine. I'll still have Castlevania HD and all my other stuff on it.

I just never really used it. I've been playing with family members including my cousins this whole time. Never really played outside of that circle.

Great to see you enjoying Mass Effect so much Leo, I totally love the games as well. Remember that a lot of the choices you make in ME can be carried over to ME2. They did a great job with that feature. You're making me want to go back and play the first game again. I must have put in well over 300 hours into ME.

Played a bit of Geometry Wars Evolved 2. The only other person on my Friends List that even has a score is Archie...

I'm coming for you Archie...!

No. Really. Right now, I'm coming for you...

I also played about 10 seconds of Gears of War. I don't know if I have enough testosterone in my body to beat it though! I picked it up after hearing about its artistic use of the color gray and the bromance aspects of it, but I have yet to see it. I dunno...

I was also playing around with the Dashboard and came across something I didn't even know existed!

It seems 360 has its own little Virtual Console!

I had NO IDEA you could download Original Xbox games! I was browsing through and these caught my eye:

They also had 360 Games on Demand. I was looking at these:

LOL Hmm. I better brush up on my Geometry Wars 2 skills.

Yeah buying original Xbox games was a great addition and there's some really good ones worth getting on there. The 360 Games on Demand is another really nice feature but usually the prices for them aren't that good of a deal and you're better off getting the physical version of them instead. However some you may not be able to find too easily and there's some with a decent price for them so it's good to have the download option available.
