It's so we can have an at-home version of Boong-Ga Boong-Ga

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boong-Ga_Boong-Ga

If you're not real familiar with the game allow me to try and explain it.  There's a game in Japan called Kancho where children put their hands together, point their index fingers out, thumbs straight up, and fold the rest of the fingers so it looks like their hands are a gun (you know what I'm referring to, we all did it).

The twist is, the kids then sneak up behind one another shout out KANCHO really loud and try to shove their pointed fingers up the other kid's butt.  In Japan this is called fun.

This game is sort of the same thing.  The controller is a pair of hands and there's a hole (in the shape of a bended over ass) where you try and stick the fingers into it as hard as you can.  Again, in Japan this is called fun.

So after reading a short article where Suda 51 said he had ideas for it I started thinking to myself.... "what kind of sick twisted idea would the man who came up with No More Heroes use for this."  The writer mused he would used it for a game where you would stick your finger into coin slot to retrieve change.  Personally I thought he'd do something more devious.  And that's when I remembered this game.

THIS is what Nintendo wants to bring to America.  They'll work it into the Virtual Arcade somehow.

I would listen to that podcast.  My butt would clench up for a minute or two, but I'd still listen.

I remember seeing a pic of a guy playing this! Was like WTF. Thanks for explaining it.

And for serious here's an interview where Iwata touches on the vitality thing briefly

http://venturebeat.com/2009/06/04/nintendo-ceo-wii-care-about-your-heartbeat-but-not-your-iphone-the-recession-or-free-games/

and I think I saw footage of a game show that did a variation of this "game"
