Yeah I'm in the same boat as you. I haven't picked up a DS game in ages but there are a lot out that I really like and want. I don't know maybe I'm just more in love with the consoles instead because there's always games I keep buying for them. Hopefully I'll get a little more into the portables because I hate seeing my DS collect dust and I really want to get a DSi soon.
don't know how to answer your question though. try and think about what it is specifically that keeps you from playing your DS more. would you be playing those same games more if they were on a console?

Here's what you do:
1. Remove all other electronic devices from the bedroom - yes ALL
2. Build a pillow barrier between your wife and you, denying her the "goods"
3. Remove all light sources i.e lamps and bulbs, this way to get light you will have to turn on your DS and use it
4. Remove all electronic devices from the toilet
5. Remove all lights and bulbs from the toilet
6. Eat lots of heavy and barely digestible food
7. Make sure you take your DS into the bog with you everytime you need some "me" time
For me, I live off of handhelds.

For 9 months I did not have access to my consoles or games, and it was the denial of these things that pushed me into handheld gaming. I get stuck on the PSP for 3-4 games, then I'll swing back to the DS or GBA for a stint. Now that I do have access to any system I still find myself happily gravitating to my PSP or DS.
You do need to concentrate slightly more when playing a handheld, so it helps not to have any distractions.
I have 2 games for the GBA: SP. Though that's due to it being very uncomfortable. It was worth it fro the two games, though. 
And I have one game for theDS. I need to get back to playing it, but i played it low light for 40 minutes or so when the power went out. I couldn't see for the next week!

Back then, I figured I'd be getting games for the system by the truckloads because many of them are reasonably priced (as long as they're not 1st party, greedy bastards), and it's easy to find a good number of them used.

Can't understand it. I have no carpal tunnel syndrome (yet). I have little spare time, but I can't see that as a problem considering that I spend some time playing in the PC or home systems.
What's wrong with me?
