Sorry I haven't posted much but it's cause I can't tear myself away from god of War!!!!! Masterpiece!!! It's got an injection of zelda, the most and interesting combat system in years. This is up there with RE4 as best reinventions ever. I think it will challenge for game of the generation.

Ask me questions if you have any, I'll post more later.

God of War 2

God of War Chains of Resisitence

God of War 1

God of War: The other PSP game

God of War 3

God of War Ascension

Tomb Raider (2013 Reboot) - -and that's a stretch by a long shot.

Nothing else is God of War-like really. God of War is a mix of third person and 2D platformer combat with puzzle solving ala Tomb Raider/ Uncharted, with the occasional boob.

I'm pretty sure your list wouldn't make the top 10...

I don’t know but I do know who would be at the top of that list. It would be DonkeyBallsareHungz125 of course.

Prince of Persia was pretty similar to God of War (old style). Both were a simpler version of action games like Ninja Gaiden and DMC, but with cooler stories and better adventure elements.

The new GOW is totally different. It's an epic adventure/exploration game with cues from Last of Us, Horizon, Tomb Raider reboot, etc.

I regretted setting the difficulty to the second hardest for a while into playing the game. The first two enemies beat my ass again and again, repeatedly. But... OH. MY. GOD (of War)  once I got a little stronger... The battles got more strategic and challenging, but I found my rhythm, started to KICK ASS and LOVE IT! The Axe was flying, arrows were too, I was juggling and freezing enemies, hitting them with the Axe on it's return to my hand, ripping enemies asunder... I was doing brutal strikes and using my Runic skills. I felt like a God because I EARNED it. I don't die as much now, but it's certainly still possible. The battle system is unique, versatile, varied, brutal and AWESOME!!! GASP  I totally recommend cranking up the difficulty!

Even on normal the battles are pretty tough. There's been plenty of deaths on my playthrough. LOL

So about 20 hours in, this game hasn't the story and presentation level of the best game so like TLOU but still an action adventure game. The action is so great, it feels unique and varied enough to be interesting for many hours. The axe is one of the best gameplay mechanic so ive seen, its a weapon and batarang all into one, plus it makes you feel like Thor.

The design is generally fantastic with constant creative enemy encounters made to test your skills in many ways. On regularly hard the game is pretty brutal at the start but as you grow it becomes manageable. It runs with an RPG system which Is surprisingly deep but leads to the curse of open world RPG systems, if you do too many side quests you become over powered for the main story. That is a huge no no for action games, my game is piss easy when I played story missions now. So I guess I'm supposed to not do the awesome  side content?!

The story is fantastic, best father son story ever put in a game. It's still GoW, there are crazy epic moments and brutal kills. The world is gorgeous and a joy to explore, so many neat secrets all around too, arkham style stuff.

I think combat and story puts this game in GOTG talks but it does feel kind of like a modern game Frankenstein at times so that stops it from being an all time great.
