Not a bad list although Shadow of the Collossus and Half-Life 2 are over-rated and don't belong there. Also Wind Waker is not better the Twilight Princess.

Half of gaf was confused on what to do with TP. Many people didn't vote for it cause they played it on wii so they consider it a last gem game. So the vote is a lie. Wait you don't like HL2, YOU? So weird.

You could argue that Halo was more important than every other game in the top 10. Regardless, it should easily be in the top 5. The fucking Xbox wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for Halo. Imagine if Halo was a Gamecube game? The Xbox would have gotten destroyed. Lolz
Being a great system tech-wise only goes so far....without that game the Xbox would have sold to a small number of people who just wanted the most powerful console and it would have been quickly forgotten.

I would say GTA3 is the most important game of that entire generation. Halo is up there in terms of importance too and yes it saved Xbox. If there is no halo xbox live does not take off and the 360 never becomes the online shooter console.
Yup, I think Half-Life 2 is over-rated. I thought it was a good game but no way would I put it over Halo or Halo 2 and perhaps a couple other FPS games.

Overall I don't have too many gripes, since I haven't played half of those. RE4 does deserve it's top spot on any best of list though (it was the GS General Forum's top pick when I compiled the best-of list back in 2007 or 200
. No Dragon Quest 8 is a joke though. And Persona 4 isn't as good as Persona 3 no matter what the fanboys who jack off the the girls in the game think.

I gave up on FFX more than once. Outside the sphere grid (which is admettedly cool as far as skill systems go), there's little to like in it. Stupid story, douchebag unlikeable lead character, awful mini-games.

I'm sure the confused people were the ones who were usually arguing that during the last gen, the Wii wasn't this gen.

See the whole list at the link, such a great list. Three of my top four are in the top 3 so I am proven to have amazing taste in games once again. I have played all but 5 games on the gaf top 25 list, what a fantastic gen.
the things that surprised me are the GTA games not being in the top 10. Jak and Daxter being the best platformer. Oh and persona 4 beating KOTOR?! And WW beating TP pisses me off.
