So, how do you play Forza?

I play with no assists:
  • Suggested Line: Off
  • ABS Off
  • TCS Off
  • STM Off
  • Manual Shifting
  • No Rewind (a new feature in Forza 3)
I also prefer to play in a cockpit view or the closest thing to it (hood cam in Forza 2).

My favorite gameplay mode is Time Trials. I'll spend hours just racing the same track over and over again trying to beat my fastest time.

Absolutely no music in a racing game (if possible). I find that music distracts me from the game.

I also prefer to play in a cockpit view or at least the closest thing to it. This goes for both sim and arcade racing games.

It depends on the game, but as this is a thread about Forza...

As far as I can remember I played with suggested line on (often didn't follow it, though!) and automatic gears. And the more music the better! Grinning

I also loved the endurance races. They were definitely the most fun and satsifying part of the game.

Good point. I'll rewrite my original question specifically for Forza.

Awesome! Day one purchase here. Yeah I'm a wuss, I drive with most of the assists on. I put my own music on the HDD and drive around to my custom tunes. Nothing better then racing around to some Megadeth. Grinning

I'm here. I skipped FM2 so I am very much eager to try the demo, even though the game is a sure buy.

I drive without assists, but with automatic shifting. No music. The engine howl and tire screams are all the music I need.

I liked the original Forza Motorsport so much better than GT4 that it totally justified my purchasing an xbox back then.

Now if Polyphony Digital fucks up in any way possible and doesn't release the most perfect driving simulator ever in GT5 then i will have no choice but to get a 360 for FM3.  At this point i am avoiding any more videos as it's too much of a cock-tease when i don't know if i will ever get to play this.

As to how i play forza (always talking about the first game): Assist line off, automatic transmission, no music but the music made by the engine and tires (as steel already said nicely)

Not a racing game fan. Those car models are great though. Grass is bad.

If you are standing still, looking at grass textures on the curb on a racing game, you are doing it horribly, horribly wrong.

"Forza Motorspot is a slow, tedious, unrealistic drag.".

Hmm, the way you feel about Forza mirrors how I feel about most RPGs. WinkWink

Well that was much faster than Forza's gameplay

That's all racing games are good for.

Yep, not even a smiley. They suck.

As for those that are actually interested in Forza 3, what version are you going to pick up: the standard or limited Edition?

Gamestop.com:
The Forza 3 GameStop Exclusive Limited Edition comes with:
  • Forza Motorsport 2GB USB Storage and keychain:  Show off your Forza pride with these specially branded items.
  • Forza Motorsport VIP Membership* and Exclusive Car Pack*: Want to be a top painter, tuner, driver or just more active in the community? VIP membership is the way to get yourself noticed. Includes special treatment within the online Auction House, Community Storefront and on the Forzamotorsport.net forums. Also includes 5 of the hottest cars from the roster of Forza Motorsport 3, available only through your VIP membership.
  • Exclusive Collector’s Edition Car Pack*: This one is for the fans. This pack includes 5 cars that have been hand tuned and hand painted by the developers at Turn 10 to fly the Forza Motorsport colors.
  • Exclusive Forza Motorsport 3 Theme:* Customize your Dashboard experience with this limited availability Xbox 360 theme.
*Requires access to Xbox LIVE

I'm going with the standard edition. That extra content just doesn't seem to be worth an additional $20.

You know I wouldn't mind picking up that steering wheel. I hope they package it with Forza 3.
