Battle evil fish wizards to rescue your family GOTY
We know, we know. We've had hundreds of emails from clever readers wryly complaining that if the first game was called Endless Ocean then by definition there should be no need for a sequel since the original would never reach a conclusion. If that's the case, then why did classic '80s movie The Neverending Story have a runtime of 98 minutes? Anyway, regardless of logic, Endless Ocean 2 is on its way to your Wii, and it promises to greatly improve on its fun-but-flawed predecessor.
The original Endless Ocean saw you stepping in the shoes (well, the wetsuit and flippers to be precise) of a diver who was tasked with exploring the depths of the seas and identifying a wide variety of different fish and other creatures. It was a relaxing, enjoyable game but our only concern was that it took a long time for the title to get into proper game-based 'missions' and even then there was never any palpable sense of danger, even if you came across a shark. That was the point after all - it was a game about relaxation, not death and destruction.
Swim With The Fishes
Conversely, the sequel, due to arrive on your Wii early next year, focuses much more heavily on adventure and exploration. You'll be checking out sunken ships, trying to find treasure and not only encountering sharks and salt water crocodiles again, but actually having to evade attacks from them this time around as well.
As you find treasure and other salvageable objects underwater, you can sell it back at the nearby Nine Ball Island and use the money to develop your own reefs (to attract fish) or add fish to your personal aquarium which other people can come and visit.
You can also befriend a dolphin at the island and teach it various tricks. Once the dolphin earns your trust you can take it with you on dives and even hold onto it to gain extra speed while swimming around. And the fish-love doesn't end there. You also have the ability to determine if some fish are ill and use a special tranquilliser to zap sick ones with healing energy like some sort of underwater messiah. Yes, it's a strange little game.
Endless Ocean 2 will also allow you dive with a friend via Wi-Fi, using Wii Speak to talk to each other as you swim around and explore the huge underwater environments, tunnels and caves. It's nice to see another game that makes use of Wii Speak and this could be an ideal title for it.
It seems that Endless Ocean 2 is attempting to keep its peaceful, serene mood but also attract more traditional gamers with the option of more exploration and dangerous missions. If they can strike the balance right and not lose the chilled out appeal of the first title then this could be a worthy follow up.

Is the manual all in japanese? Can you follow the story or emails in that language?

I can read few Japanese words, therefore I can get some meanings in the story

Endless Ocean 2 Overworld Island preview
Nice, you can see from the little things that they've really strived to improve every aspect. Being able to rotage the 3D fish models in the enclyclopedia, getting co-ordinates. Or in focus mode being able to move the camera about.
Cool merchant woman in cowboy hat sells stuff.

No Hayley's songs, I was little disappointed, because I love Hayley's voice This time all the songs are singing by Celtic Woman. Another bad news that, we cannot play our mp3 song from SD card >______<
omg, I have playing 10 hours now, the game started to give sub-mission to me, the sub-missions are similar with the first endless ocean. Rewards are the money, and you can buy items from the business woman. Such as the new diving suits and upgrade the equipment, etc.

I'm okay with no mp3 as I liked the music in the first game. I have a feeling its because of Nintendo switching to AAC format and not willing to pay for the mp3 licence.
How can you read what you are suppossed to be doing when they give you missions?
I don't mind because I can just turn the sound down and play the songs on the PC.
That's a pity about no Westenra, though. I thought she went extremely well with the game.
My grandfather loved it!
Just post some new pics
kiss ^3^
And this is captured by my friend
Wow. So it looks like you can walk above water in areas other than the island.
