^ That should have been the main controller for Wii U.

You have expanded your argument, but I still disagree. System has not failed yet, so there is no blame to place.

It failed at E3. And unless there is a massive turnaround in 3rd party support it will fail for many years to come. Think about it, the reaction from gamers is being watched, other developers are watching to see what kind of games it's getting, seeing what shit is being passed off and thinking, why should we bother?

New Super Mario Bros needs to die now.

4 games in the same style is enough.

More 2D mario is always welcome but look at the difference in art and even gameplay between Mario 1, 2, 3, World and Yoshis Island. That is what we need to see in 2D mario games. Nintendo seriously needs to get over its fascination with "New" SMB and it's rendered look of the original game.

Agreed completely.  Nothing "new" about these games anymore

I haven't even played the 1st NEW SUPER MARIO BROS on the fucking Wii yet. Obviously I have zero interest in this Wii U version.

Get the wii one, ignore the DS game and probably the 3DS one because the constant noise of collecting coins will drive you insane. I think the Wii U game will be good, if the Wii 1 game is any indication but I am sick of this retro blocky rendered style. They need to reset the clock on the 2D marios like they used to do, or even go back and do a New Super Mario World or New Super Mario Bros 3 style or something. The design is always good but why can't they at least do new imaginative worlds like how Super Mario Galaxy can fart out 50 new locations and unique areas?

Longer higher quality Zombi U video here

You can get a good sense of the visuals here. Ubisoft Montpellier are hardly graphical whizzes, their last games were Tin Tin, Rabbids Go Home and Rayman Legends. Considering its a launch game on new hardware it looks decent for them.

I already saw what it looks like on an HDTV so I have the best look at the visuals of all of you. Nyaa

Looks fine but nothing jaw dropping. The game idea is really sweet though.

No it's not jaw dropping. Did you expect it to be?

It's a launch game on new hardware and not a great graphical team, going up against games where developers have been working on the systems with 5-6 years experience. The V5 devkits were only given out recentely and I hear the middleware isn't even complete yet. The chatter is that it's easier to port 360 code over then to work ground up. Since the 360 is weaker than the PS3 and the Wii U is more powerful than the PS3 there is a big chunk of un-used potential and experience to gain over the years.

All of the big three conferences generally sucked ass on the whole.  Nintendo was the best because of Pikmin 3 even if they showed little else of interest.  The biggest disappointment of E3 for me was the huge mess Sony and TeamICO managed to make of The Last Guardian.  The game for which I bought the PS3, which could have been a real game of the generation contender for me ... is now, after many years in development and several years more in hiatus, in such a state that they can't even show it to the public.  All we are told is that they're getting engineers in to help them salvage it.  Despite what IGA thinks of engineers, I somehow don't see it happening.  Congratulations Sony.  Fuck you Sony.

I'm just tired of all the goddamn MARIO games, period. Nintendo just relies on Super Mario way too much to the point of nauseum. And this despite the fact that there hasn't been that many mainline 3D Mario games over the years. They do so much side crap with the character that I'm just tired of it. And how many videos did they show for games on Wii U at the press event that actually had fucking Mario jokes or some shit in them?

Since the 360 is weaker than the PS3 and the Wii U is more powerful than the PS3 there is a big chunk of un-used potential and experience to gain over the years.

To follow up this post, I'm expecting Aliens to look good given everything Gearbox have said, they are using PC port devs to do it and its not an existing game later being ported but a game currently in development. Gearbox and Demiurge have both worked on HD games before too.

Ubisoft Montpelliers last game was Tin Tin.

This is a screen from the 360 version, so ZombiU actually looks very decent for them and not something to be hang dog about.

Other devs for games like AC3 or Darksiders 2 have both said the Wii U hardware is more powerful than current gen but they do not feel the need to do extra work.

Nintendo on the other hand like I said ageeeeeeeeees ago have been working on Wii games for the past 6 years which is Gamecube plus tech. Everyone else geared up for HD development over 6 years ago and have had years of experience, improving their engines over the years. Pikmin is the first generation of HD games for Nintendo and you are going to have to wait for the 2nd or 3rd or even 4th game from them to see how they can impress. Not only that Pikmin 3 started life as a Wii game.

The Last of Us is like Naughty Dog's 4th action adventure, their 4th stab at it for instance.

Trine 2 however looks pretty amazing and closer to the PC version. The developer reckons that the Wii U version features "next gen visuals" and their improved graphics are "only on Wii U" - that's what their people have been saying anyway. It looks pretty special to me based on the HQ trailer and full screen pics.

But the question is, who is going to be developing games that actually graphically impress on Wii U? Most 3rd parties are just going to be porting 360 code over since reports say it's harder to port over PS3 code. I would like to see Cryengine 3 games, Crytek confirmed there are Wii U games using it. Frostbite was said to be running ages ago so I would like to see what EA can do with it.

I think Wii U is suffering because of Wii 1. Look at it this way, all these publishers and developers geared up for HD games years ago, they staffed up, they got the new equipment, they got into a groove. Suddenly there is this new machine and for them it's a 4th version of a game they are already developing 3 versions of. It's not their priority and you even get the impression that they begrudgingly give support. They need someone else to do the work for them like Gearbox got someone else to do the Wii U version of Aliens or like how Junction Point are getting someone else to do the HD versions of Epic Mickey. So unless you have a super port team and the cash to spend on it, Wii U is getting left on the sidelines.

It's not a trivial thing to staff up and expand your facilities for a whole new system.

On Nintendo bottom line is that I do not think the Zelda team will push visuals like you would want them too, it wont consistently look as good as the demo from last year which was made by a U.S company with Nintendo help on the art and assets. Mario has the best chance of looking amazing with their animation and lighting and being clean and HD.

Metroid, might look good because of the art mainly but will it be that impressive in a world of impressive looking FPSs?

But screw all this shit, I just want Endless Ocean 3. Now.

Ah I believe these are Wii U screens of Aliens because like other Wii U screens from the show, AA hasn't been implemented yet. See full screen to see what I mean

And they were posted on 2 specialist Nintendo sites
