Yikes.

Some years I just change the lenses in my existing frames. My dad has the same pair of glasses he had in the 60s, thick black rimmed Michael Caine glasses.

Now I picture your dad as Michael Caine.

GG: "dad can you give me a few quid to buy a game?"

Dad: "Nevah!"

Sounds about right.

Anyone notice the anti glare coating = constantly having to clear smears from lenses?

Glasses look great. I don't understand why anyone who had the opportunity to wear them earnestly wouldn't.

Mostly mobility (so in physical jobs, or sports, glasses get in the way). Sunglasses are another issue with spectacles.  You can have prescription ones, but then you are locked into a set of frames for a while and it is a pain if they get stolen/ lost.  Also everything is letterboxed.

Contacts give full peripheral vision.

I wore contacts before glasses, but they would dry and irritate my eyes.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile

^I wear them from the time I wake up until the time I get home. Then I wear my specs (Rayban 6066).

In my exp glasses provide better vision, but for reasons above they are not suitable for my level of physical activity.

In other news, I have changed by sunglasses to this:

They are the smaller matte finish.

I tried aviators, but you have to be under 24 or over 65 to pull off aviators.

When I get to Sculley age I am hoping to pull it off.  I tried them on in the store and looked sickly.

My glasses look just like the one in your 1st pic, Aspro. Well, mine are a cheap Walmart version.

I admit to not watching soccer, or any sport for that matter, but why are they holding hands?

Also, those glasses are not about being fashionable.  If you wear glasses they're about the only kind available to you, regardless of how much you make a year.  I have some very similar specs for during sports.

It's the camera angle, sadly.

Edgar Davids not about fashion? Please.

My eyes are quite good. I used to wear sunglasses though, not that that counts.

I am about -1.75 in both eyes.  I wear neither lenses nor spectacles at work.  I use daily contact lenses on occasion ... like if I am on holiday and I want to be able to see my surroundings more clearly, or if I'm going to go to museums, galleries, sight-seeing etc.  I wear my glasses when I'm driving at night, or watching TV/playing games etc.

Wear sunglasses whenever I leave the house in the daytime.  My eyes are especially sensitive to sunlight and I need the glasses even when it's cloudy etc.  I have several pairs but the ones I use most often is a pair of Raybans with a plastic black frame which I bought more than ten years ago.  Much like Aspro I have at times wished I could look cool in Aviators but I have just had to accept that I look ridiculous.

I wasn't implying he was overtly fashion sensitive, just saying that all those sports glasses look sameish.

And I was implying he wears those glasses for the sole purpose of fashion (not because of his glaucoma which is clearly a smokescreen).
