You know when I clicked the thread I thought there would be a consensus like there usually is when choosing console games. But most of your choices are all different which is awesome, it shows the variety of software the system had and how its games could appeal en masse to everyone.
I won't rank my games but theses are the ones I would choose:
- Phoenix Wright: 3 is the best but if you never played the games you have to start at 1
- Soul Bubbles is the most brilliant, yet unknown and virtually unappreciated DS game of all time, it's crazy good
- Chinatown Wars is immensely satisfying to play
- Advance Wars Dual Strike, not the crumby, souless sequel. The touch screen makes this game so much better
Finally I have to tag on one of the Castlevania games here, the first one Dawn of Sorrow I think it's called.- Sorry Castlevania, I forgot about Rhythm Heaven which is orgasmic
FOR GOD'S SAKE... WOULD SOMEONE ELSE PUH-LEASE PLAY 9, 9, 9 or GHOST TRICK ALREADY?!
9, 9, 9 was ---SOOOO--- good, they are readying the SEQUEL for release throughout the world soon! PLAY IT ! ! !
**Here's motivation for Aspro: If you play really, really poorly, you can get everyone KILLED in the game! Right up your alley!**

I played 999 for about 20 minutes. I failed to get out of my cabin. May have been drunk, can't remember, but it baffled me.

Yeah, I was going to give special mention to Phoenix Wright 2 and 3.
Yeah Phoenix Wright 3 is amazing provided you've played through the first two. On its own I don't think it would hold up as well, but as trilogy the Phoenix Wright series is excellent and is wrapped up with a very satisfying conclusion. Mass Effect fans should be so lucky.
The 3DS is officially one year old this week (everywhere but Japan anyway). Aside from Pokemon Black & White 2, the DS is pretty much dead now. So looking back on it, if you had to recommend 5 games to someone who would be picking up a DS for the first time, what would they be?
