Okay, so it's not just me.  Yeah they seem to be fixated on using the L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons in as many ways as is possible.

Its pretty damn crazy, it took me a good hour to really be comfortable with it and then they start introducing more uses for the buttons. I died three times on the dunegon boss cause I was getting hung up on aiming controls. You get used to it but it is complicated.

Yeah.  I guess I could also keep the controls page open, I've done that before.

In terms of the weapons dealer, he's alright.  He gives the game a sense of humor.  He's a lot like the Shinagami Ryuk in Death Note, in terms of his demeanor.

You know, I'm usually the FIRST to complain about complicated controls, but I never had any issues with Darksiders...

Can't you assign the weapons to the shoulder buttons that you want...?

Started it tonight. Love the artstyle, and voicework, while cheesy, is right on the money for the vibe of the game. Camera is way too loose for my tastes, but I will get by. Playing on normal, half an hour in and it has been a very linear affair. But the minute I hit a fucking dungeon where I get lost because of shit design, I'm going to fucking bail.

I went as far as Tiamat.  Finding it a bit hard to negotiate aiming and locking on with the cross blade all while she's fireballing me.  Died a few times and turned in for the night.  Will get back to it again after work today

You can assign the various weapons tools to the crosspad.

I thought the way they handled the camera is pretty good.  For the most part it does all the work, unless you want to take over.

The maps make for easier dungeon exploration (since they give you a marker to head toward and an on screen map).

I'm not there yet.  I'm doing the challenges (i htink there are 4-5 of them) for the blue demon weapons dealer.  It's been slow going for me, but maybe that has to do with how tired I have been while playing.

Well, I think I put almost an hour in today. I'm calling it a night. Just reached the part where you steal someone's ride.

I must be playing this game SO SLOWLY.  You guys are totally getting more out of your playing time.

That changes now.  No news updates tonight. I'm going to shower, grab a beer and give this game a good thrashing.

Second dungeon is conquered. I am loving this game a ton. The action mixes perfectly with the puzzles, they managed the balance so well in dungeons. I also like how you constantly get a new power or weapon every hour or so, keeps things interesting. I have loved the cool shit that goes on before dungeons, nice change of pace from the usual gameplay.  I have been going back to old locations to get some heart pieces, I mean life shards, its a bit obvious when compared to Zelda but I will take it.

The game is fantastic, I really hope these guys get a bigger budget for the sequel. Everything is designed so well. These are some of the best non-Zelda game Zelda like dungeons I have ever played, better than Okami's sad attempts.

This game IS God of War.  I can see how if you had not played that, or Devil May Cry, that you may think this game is in the top 10 ever made, but it's not.  It's a direct copy of GoW (at least so far).

I took a night off so today I'll have to jump back in. Still haven't fought Tiamat yet, but I know I was gettng close. I did get that Krull type boomerang. I do not like the R3 aiming at all. Suppose I'll have to get used to it.

Oh and since no one else mentioned it, I didn't like the flying level. Felt like a cheap way to break up the game with something different.

Considering the GoW games aren't really that special, I would agree that Darksiders doesn't belong in a top 10 either. However, I find War to be a much more appealing lead character than Kratos with his constipated, hemorroid-inducing anger.

3.5 hours in. Just cleared the first dungeon, Twilight Cathedral. I have a low tolerance for backtracking, and the way the cathedral is designed almost pissed me off. Nevertheless, I conquered it. Chapter two will have to wait until next week, though, because I have to travel.

Third heart found, its not in a dungeon but the way there is totally awesome and different. Every time I think I have the game figured out it introduces a whole new mechanic or it throws a whole new gameplay situation at you. The boss fights have been great and now I have my horse which is a blast to use.

This game is FANTASTIC!

OMG. It took me over a dozen tries to kill Tiamat ! ! !

She was the Boss of the FIRST. DUNGEON. WTH is wrong with me?!

I knew I had to take her down with the Crossblades and some bombs, but MY GOD...! I kept on getting hit by her fire breath, her atomic drops or simply when she would swing her claws! Imagine fighting Gohma a dozen times! This is embarrassing!

So that means I will beat it on my first try with no issues right. Nyaa
