This is a very cool idea. This isn't my kind of thing, so I won't be participating, but it'll be fun to see the outcomes.
Though I doubt I'll have much in the way of competitive games.

Everyone with PS+ has VF5 for free, I suggest that game for some of these matches.
The last time I played any game online with anybody here was Metal Gear Online with Dvader when MGS4 first came out.

So here's how it will work. You'll be matched up in a tournament bracket. Then, between you and your opponent, you must determine an online versus game that you can play against each other. From there, you shall play out to see who is the victor.
Is there support for this silly endeavour? Or will we be the ever-apathetic bunch who is incapable of so much as casting a vote?
