if this is in regards to single-player story modes, I am completely on board. Netherrealms has done an okay job a couple times, but I'm willing to throw out the baby with the bath water to prevent the other abominations from happening again.

I'm finally getting the hang of it to the point where I can get an a rating on some of the levels. So I'm going to make it a point over the next few weeks to keep trying to do that and see if I can't unlock the special adult singing ending.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership - 11/02 - Switch - 4/10
I went in to this expecting an enjoyable romp with charming characters and a wittily told tale. What I got is a budget bin Mario title, with hamfisted writing, jokes that don't land, a new all time low for sidequests to the point where I just stopped doing them after having tried a couple. The graphic style is nice, although nearly nothing is animated which sticks out like a sore thumb in a Mario game. The part with Bowser and his minions is notably better, and the final run up to the big baddie is pretty good as well. But those things aren't worth the dire 20 hours of blandness you'll need to play through to get there.
I'm sorry you suffered so much to play that. I noticed took you quite a while to get through a twenty hour game.

I downloaded the game, enjoyed the actual fighting, tried this mode. Played like 4 hours, wanted to quit, tried another hour just to see if I could like it... nope, its HORRENDOUS. I deleted the game.

Sucks man. Has work ramped up?

Eh, I still manage to work less than 40 hours a week. It's more a case of too much hobbies and worse: kids with intensive hobbies. Couple that with a wife who enjoys watching Netflix together and the need to actually get enough sleep, and gaming disappears to the background.
On the upside: I started Echoes of Wisdom, so I might try harder to maximise my gaming time.

I just wanted to say I really appreciate seeing somebody use the term "hamfisted."
