I forgot to mention that I completed Tunic. It really fills in the Zelda void with tons of secrets, but this aint no easy game though. These enemies can get quite tough. The best part of the game is collecting pages of the instruction booklet. It really looks like an old school Zelda booklet. Highly recommend this game.

such a great game, loved the instruction manual mechanic. So many clever puzzles from it.

I started deaths door Leo, seemed fun but gamepass ran out so I haven't been able to finish it. I did like 4-5 hours of it.

Death's Door is a great game. Very challenging. I need to get back to it soon.

After struggling with the boss battle for 2 weeks, I have finally completed Darkest Dungeon's Crimson Court DLC.

This whole thing was like leading lambs to the slaughter. One after another. And unfortunately it's not easy to level up characters so this took a while. Basically it was level up a team, take them into battle and watch them die, rinse and repeat.

Anyway after such a long time this is very gratifying.

Game #27 - Beat God of War Ragnarok - 7/10. Good game. Still think greek God of War is funner. The game has more enemies and more bosses than last time, but still doesn't actually fix what's unsatisfying about fighting a lot of these enemies. The berserkers were a step back from valkyries, GNA was good, think Sigrun is better, and the RPG shit needs to die. This is 100% the worst action game camera, I didn't think that was the case with 2018, but I'm pretty sold on that take now with how much this game has people just sliding to swing at you off screen. The lock on is also bad. The sheer content of the game is appreciated. The story isn't really good as the last one, but it has its moments and is mostly well presented.

27 games in and the best game I beat this year is The Return of the Obra Dinn. The best games of 2022 that I played at least is like

1. King of Fighters 15

2. Elden Ring

3. Bayonetta 3

I'm not particularly high on 2022 as a year. Find it pretty dry.

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is in the books (again). Despite being a bigger game than its predecessor Aria of Sorrow, it's not a better game. I think this was the first sign that Konami was struggling on what to do next with their metroidvania format.

Everything in this game is good, but aside from drawing a pattern on the screen every once in awhile there really isn't anything new in this game that we hadn't already seen before. All the settings are getting kind of generic too. More importantly, the game really lacks a big moment. In both symphony of the Night and Aria of sorrow, there's moments that really define the game, and this one just kind of feels like it's on cruise control for the entire duration.

After over 100 hours, I finished my second playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2. I loved this game when it first came out and believe I loved it even more the second time around. The key to this game is to explore. I spent days without doing a single main mission, only exploring the countryside looking for as many secrets as possible. I found quite a few that I missed the first time. I said a few months back that MGSV was my favorite game of last gen but I may have been mistaken. This game is phenomenal.

I would love to play it on max settings, I played it on crap base Xbox One. Excellent game, MGSV still tops for me but this is close. And here is a handy list of my favorite games of last gen! I have RDR2 as 4th.

Final tally is 34 games. You can see my list here. This year I'll try to update manually so it's on the site as well.

Well unless GG submits a last minute list, it looks like Archie adds another title to his collection.

I can't let Archie win without a fight, so here's my completed games list of 2022:

  • Doom 3 BFG Edition (PS4)
  • Yoshi's Island (Switch)
  • Tomb Raider 2013 (PS4)
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4)

*mic drop*
