So basically he's a male version of Midna?
After I double jump and hold the "X" button, I now sprout HUGE, smokey black wings which allow me to glide for a short time and ride dark wind currents! Now so much more of the world is open to me!
So very Metroidian, So very Zelda like. <3
I was told by Samael to bring him the still-beating heart of the Bat Queen.
*giggle!*
I posted the first 10 minutes of the game in the updates, will watch.
I keep on reading about frame-rate drops and screen tearing... but have encountered none of that in the game yet.
Could this be the 360 version?
One of the reviews mentioned this game was built from the ground up for the PS3. Could it be that the PS3 was the system the game was made for and 360 got the port (for a change)?

You should have snatched it up!
This game makes me think Machismo. Bad Ass. Metal. Big Boobies.

Anus makes me think of Steel.
I checked out some videos of the game on XBLM and it looks great. Excellent choice having Mark Hamill in the game. I totally love the graphic artstyle in the game. I'm definitely sold on this game now and will be getting a copy in the very near future.
HERE I COME TO BREAK YOUR STREAK.
Darksiders is a cool game. Heavily derivative, but cool nonetheless.
Vader, if you're reading this, you're gonna go nuts for it.
So is it more Zelda or God of War? If it's more like Zelda, is it very similar with lot's of exploration, dungeons, finding items to beat bosses, etc.?
If so, I'm getting more and more excited to try it!

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns

The answer is: Yes.

Can't wait to I play it tonight! Need to finish some work first.

DID SOMEBODY SAY STREAK?
Woooo!
I always tell myself I am just going to play for a half hour or so and ALWAYS end up playing AT LEAST an hour more than I wanted.
Tonight I was just going to explore the first area past where I got the wings. Started cooking some chicken before I started to play. I cook my chicken for an hour and twenty minutes.
Played for a little while; flipped my chicken; played a little more...
...got to an area where you have to free a golem gate from a curse by going into a shadow realm and defeating 4 (5?) challenges. These challenges included killing 50 enemies before your health depleted completely due to being poisoned. Kill 30 enemies with the fatality "O" button. Kill 5 enemies with an air combo.
Got through 2 challenges; the timer went off for my chicken. (1 hour, twenty minutes already!)
...continued playing. Beat the rest of the challenges and decided to explore the area to earn enough soul-currency to power up my sword moves to at least level 2 apiece. This was about an hour more.
We're talking a total of about 2 hours and twenty minutes! I cannot usually sit in one place for more than 45 minutes, tops!
THAT is a testament to the addictive and F-U-N nature of this game!
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!
These are the wings, btw. They look sooo much better in motion! They kinda remind me of something from Ico.
Sounds great but it came out at the wrong time, I have enough games to last me a few months and by the time March comes around its going to be mayhem. I will have to rent this game, not sure when I will do that.
First he answered my question:
"Darksiders unapologetically borrows gameplay ideas and mechanics from all over the spectrum and is constantly cramming new ones in all the way up to the very end. While it's not innovative by any stretch of the imagination, neither is it entirely derivative, as these myriad features not only gel together surprisingly well, but when put together even feel fresh again. Though it's hobbled by a disappointing story and excessively complex controls (as well as some technical issues on the Xbox 360), Darksiders is a fun and entertaining adventure with a host of fair but challenging puzzles, a lengthy single-player campaign, and an engaging combat system."
...but he also says this:
"Certain actions, such as throwing a charged boomerang at several targets, require a dizzying array of inputs to be made: in this case, you have to tap the right analog stick to enter aiming mode, hold the left trigger down, paint your targets with the cursor, and hold then release the right trigger to finally charge the boomerang and toss it."
...this basically mean you have to press TWO buttons at once! Oh no! How many games use the R3 button to enter an aiming mode? Lots of 'em! That's no problem. So you enter aiming mode, hold L2 to target enemies, then press and release R2 to throw the boomerang. Errr... Lark...? THIS is a dizzying array...? You are a pussy. (No wonder he had so much trouble with Fire Emblem!)
...and he takes an awesomely fun game like Darksiders, and uses his "I'm going to describe the gameplay in very boring terms without displaying any excitement or human emotion whatsoever and call it my review" technique he is SOOO famous for!
He'll say things like "Only ONE hideous, blood-puking Gargoyle? The plumbing must be stopped up!" as a hint as to what you should be doing next.
Which is faaar more interesting than "Hey! Listen!"
