Like in some stealth games a guard will randomly do something or react some times not other times. Or like in Splinter Cell 2 it was all twitchy and in Splinter Cell 3 rock solidly defined.
Download the demo. It will tell you all you need to know.
The stealth situations are fairly consistent. They are difficult, but consistent. There is a moment in the demo where you can sneak up on three guys standing next to eachother and take them out one by one without any of them noticing, but I haven't come up against anything like that since.

Dont taunt me ass! Maybe your fancy smancy PS3 has built in wireless and a hard drive but the hobo 360 core does not!
Are there one hit kills like Splinter cell 3? How bad is it if you fluff a stealth section? Do you get incessently chased down till you die or is it easy to essentially reset the situation i.e like hiding in shadows again and waiting it out.

There are one hit takedowns, and if you mess up, all hell breaks loose. Sometimes it is easy to escape, and other times you get shot almost immediately upon being spotted. It all depends on your environment and how fast you can grapple out of harm's way. There isn't necessarily a cool down time between them being alerted to you and them going back to normal. If they lose track of you they will continue searching for you. You can still sneak up and take them out as easily if they hadn't spotted you, but by no means have they forgotten that they spotted you.
gamingeek said:In the video I saw it seemed easy to just sweep up on a zipline to the shadows above everyone to escape. No?
Early on, yeah, but in later segments, if they spot you, usually there are so many guys shooting at you that they will kill you before you can get far enough away to lose them.
Yeah rag described it well. Once they spot you they unload like mad, if you dont have armor upgrades you will be downed fast as hell. Well that is if a group finds you, if one guy is shooting at you then its no big deal. If they are shooting at you, you must grapple up and swing around until you hear them say "I lost him". Problem is some rooms are small so its really tough to lose them (I dont know the requirement to make them lose you, just keep swinging back and forth until they stop shooting).
The AI is really good in terms of changing things up. At first they are all on their set path but once one guy goes down and someone notices he will call everyone over, everyone will break off their routes and begin to sweep the area. As you take out more and more the guys left get more and more scared. They will shoot at anything that makes a noise (like a steam vent). As they are walking they will constantly turn around cause they are paranoid. If you happen to be standing behind them when they turn around they will freak out and put their hands up in fear. What they never do is look up, unless they had spotted you on the ground and are shooting at you (or you hung someone from a gargoyle). They dont have much of lateral vision either, you can almost stand next to them and they wont notice you.
This game's awesome! Buy it NAO! I want this game to put up massive sales because I want more deals like this, plus it's just a really great game overall.
To get a good time in the predator maps you need to approach the level as if its a puzzle. You have 3 objectives to perform and you must figure out in what order and on who is it best to get those three objectives. Firguring it out is a blast, I feel like I am playing a stealth puzzle game.

You are always above them, the sudden turns wont get in the way at all, its just funny to watch them squirm. And if they do turn and see you when they are in nervous condition, they will shit their pants and you have plenty of times to beat the crap out of them.

Ownage. Can you kick them in the balls at all. I'm being serious. Is there a move where you can punch them in the nuts?

"Deals like this" ?
What is it at a special price or something? Or do you mean you want a sequel? In that case, buy HOTD Overkill and Little Kings Story and get back to me!

Well I know here in Canada Wal-mart is selling the game at $39 which is a steal. I think some other places like Future Shop followed with a price match. I think some places in the States are having some deals for the game as well. Normally these games sell for $69 here which I don't mind because most of them are generally worth it but if they want to sell some of them at nearly half-price then I say go for it.
Holy shit this game is so freakin' awesome! I love it! I was very impressed with the Scarecrow bit and now just passed the Bane fight. This game is just pure awesomesauce through-and-through. I love hunting down the Riddler clues. I haven't even touched the challenges yet, that'll come after I finish the story mode.
Oh wow. Six days, and this is a five page thread? Worthout reading everything, I'm going to assume it's a testament to how astounding the game is.
I rented the game on day one, and just couldn't put it down. Sometimes, that's the case with an average game and me just being bored, but not for Arkham Asylum. I had to literally force myself to stop playing, I was enjoying the game that much! I might still be starstruck, but this could possibly be the best single player game this generation. Definitely the best video game based on a comic book.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom

Welcome to the club.
I am still addicted to the challenge rooms, I dont know if I would have enjoyed the game as much without them. When I finished the game I kept thinking how I wanted a bit more out of the action, well the challenge rooms are exactly what I wanted.
I am first place in the first predator challenge map as Batman. Hell yes.
This game is amazing.
