What kind of a question is that? Obviously they're 1 and 2 whenever they're re-released.
I’m not sure we are talking about the same thing. Should a rerelease count as a 2018 game or only completely new games? Sorry, didn’t mean to muddy up the topic.
Of course, I just now realized there are other rereleases too. I withdraw my question.

I meant they should be the top 2 games in any top 10 list whenever they're re-released.
Or whenever they're played. Or even when they're not played.

Yes. It can be third.

Insanity!

I appreciate it enough to understand if anyone were to put it at number 1.
What is truly insane is your lack of appreciation for the Bayonettas.

I appreciate them plenty, especially the first, but just not as much as I appreciated W101.
Let's edit this a bit:
Monster Hunter: World
God of War
Marvel's Spiderman
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Subnautica
Grip
Megaman 11
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Soul Calibur VI
Super Mario Party
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Octopath Traveler
Yoku's Island Express
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Dead Cells
Tetris Effect
Hollow Knight
Celeste
Iconoclasts
Below
Into the Breach
Didn't mean to create any kind of confusion or drama. I just bought a record low number of games this year and finished not even half of them. I added Bayonetta and TWEWY just to pad the list a bit, but then realized I did make a good number of FANTASTIC downloadable game purchases which need to be considered!
Yay!
Hmm I feel Celeste will surprise us on how far it gets. Divinity gets far. Smash doesn't go far. I think the winner won't be the common GoW or RDR2
Elimination Time:
Monster Hunter: World
God of War
Marvel's Spiderman -- Never even touched it yet. I've heard Spiderman is AMAZING, but I have no opinion on it yet. Probably could have been up there had I devoted a few minutes time to it.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Subnautica
Grip -- They should have gone all out and gotten the license to call it Rollcage 3. AWESOME and FAST, but I don't think a racer is every really gonna make my lists, with a few exceptions...
Megaman 11
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Soul Calibur VI
Super Mario Party -- It's like you host a party and no one shows up... No one will play this game with me! No opinion, unfortunately!
Divinity: Original Sin 2 -- Bought this for me and my bf to play. Made the mistake of suggesting we play the first one, first. He was unimpressed with the gameplay of the first. Showed no interest in playing the second. Never even played it.
Octopath Traveler
Yoku's Island Express -- Like Metroid. Like Pinball. Nothing like Metroid Pinball. This game gets an 'A' for effort in creating a new concept, but it was kinda ugly. I liked it, but not enough for it to rank on my list.
Dragon Ball FighterZ -- A Dragon Ball fan's DREAM.COME.TRUE! I, however, am not a Dragon Ball fan!
Dead Cells
Tetris Effect
Hollow Knight
Celeste
Iconoclasts
Below -- Five years in the making! Atmospheric, provocative and something I'll enjoy immensely, but also something infuriating where I may never finish it.
Into the Breach
What's left:
Monster Hunter: World
God of War
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Subnautica
Megaman 11
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Soul Calibur VI
Octopath Traveler
Dead Cells
Tetris Effect
Hollow Knight
Celeste
Iconoclasts
Into the Breach
This is getting tough, most of what's left could feasibly be people's GOTYs:
Monster Hunter: World
God of War
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Subnautica
Megaman 11
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Soul Calibur VI
Octopath Traveler
Dead Cells
Tetris Effect
Hollow Knight
Celeste -- This is a hard one to cut. I could really benefit from the message this game tries to convey. It's beautiful, it's heartfelt, it's perfect in it's simplicity, but I find myself not having the patience for platformers like this these days. Make no mistake, if you see this game awarded Game of the Year elsewhere, they're not just being kind to an indy developer... It TRULY deserves it, but there's not enough room on my Top Ten list to fit it!
Iconoclasts -- A little bit of Metroid-Vania, a little bit of a Treasure-style platformer. I've been playing this one all year and enjoying it. It's just a bit obscure in it's story and some of the battles or levels are a bit much for their own good, but still... This game HAS been awarded GOTY on certain sites and I agree, just not as much for me!
Into the Breach -- A brilliant game from the makers of FTL, one of Rag's GOAT's... It's pick-up-and-play simple, but devious in it's strategy. I love it in it's own right, but I like FTL more. Still, I HIGHLY recommend ANYONE and EVERYONE tries this game out!
It's outta these:
Monster Hunter: World
God of War
Marvel's Spiderman
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Red Dead Redemption II
Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom
Subnautica
Grip
Megaman 11
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Soul Calibur VI
Super Mario Party
Divinity: Original Sin 2
The World Ends With You: Final Remix
Octopath Traveler
Yoku's Island Express
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Bayonetta + Bayonetta 2
