Beat Modern Warfare Remastered.

I can't really tell how much better looking this version is because I haven't played the original in so long. But it looks really crisp and not much worse than the more recent games in the series. This brought back some serious memories because I haven't played through this since like 2008. MW is still my favorite COD by far. This was the game that spawned the milking of the franchise but that's a testament to how good and fresh it really was at the time. It still has the best campaign in the series and the multi-player is legendary. Every COD since has just been chasing the ghost of this one.

Finally beat The Evil Within. Good game with great moments, but it definitely has a lot of fat that needed to be trimmed.

Agreed. It gave me the impression that Mikami wasn't completely comfortable working with the team he had on that one. Like when you play his old RE games it feels like something created by a very tight group all in sync with each other.

Congrats. I told you it would end eventually. Nyaa

I really enjoyed the game but can't recall much else of what I thought of the game. I kind of want to play it again though.

It kind of reminded me of Shadows of the Damned, the game he did with Suda 51. Both game had a lot of filler, some ridiculously simple puzzles that served no purpose, and would have been better if about 2 or 3 hours of gameplay had been cut from them.

On that note, I tend to take games like this a little slower than most since I'm not terribly good at them, but most estimates put the game between 16 and 20 hours. It took me 24 (and according to the notes at the end I died 204 times). And it boggles my mind that there's a trophy for completing the game in 5 hours or less.... I have no idea how that is even possible.

I would never be able to beat it in that time...it would require learning every inch of the game and it's just not THAT good.

Yeah that seems nuts. Maybe if you played on New Game Plus, on easy mode, and had every weapon and every stat maxed out. Even then, I just can't see myself even getting close to that.

Well, I finally got around to playing through Dishonored after 5 years.

Maybe it's BECAUSE its 5 years old, but as good as it is, I'm not feeling the "one of the best games ever" vibe that so many did on this one. I mean it has a average rating of 91...that's insane. It's a really well made Thief inspired stealth game but it didn't blow me away or anything. I thought it dragged on a bit towards the end as well. An 84 or so seems a more appropriate score. I still prefer the old Thief games to this just for their atmosphere alone. There's nothing bad I can really say about it other than dragging on a bit, but it did feel a little on the soulless side.

Anyway, I'm glad I finally played it. I was hyped for it when it came out but it was one of those games that just sat in my library and kept getting put off. Hell, the fucking Wii U wasn't even out yet when this game came out. Now one of these days I'll play the sequel...but I'm more looking forward to Arkane's other game honestly...the new Prey.

And after an additional 7 hours, I have completed The Assignment and the Consequence DLC missions for The Evil Within. It's the first and second half of the DLC story, so why they felt the need to split it up like that is kind of strange, but whatever floats your boat. It was well done and a great example of how DLC should compliment the main game. It helped round out the main story, with some extra background on a group that was acting behind the scenes and answered a few of the lingering questions that game left open. Plus, it provided a small glimpse into what will be going on in the sequel, which if the rumors are correct is just getting underway. There's still the Executioner DLC, where you play from a first-person persective as "Box Head" or "Safe Head" or whatever he's called, but honestly I haven't found that much fun to play. So I think with this all wrapped up, I'll finally call it a day on The Evil Within.

Hmm, interesting. I never did get the DLC for this game but I kind of want to check it out.

Damn, Robio went apeshit with this game. I haven't played the DLC either but I always wanted to. There's really only a few games I've got the DLC for over the last 5 years. I usually feel like after completing a game I just don't have the time to go back for more.

I'm not a big purchaser of DLC either. Excluding additional characters for fighting games, I think I've maybe bought half a dozen DLC stories over the years. The first time I did that with Valkyria Chronciles left a very bitter taste in my mouth, as it was a real turd.  But for whatever reason after I finished the main game I just wasn't ready for a new game. The DLC missions were pretty well reviewed, offered a different style of gameplay and were reasonably priced so I figured why not. I definitely have my Evil Within fill though now, so I will be moving on.

Just finished Resident Evil 7 and what a great game it was. This one is more about horror and atmosphere and with that they did an excellent because it was quite creepy and tense. Puzzles were pretty basic and easy for the most part. The first person perspective worked quite well. Solid 9 out of 10.

Yeah it's great...they better goddamn continue in this direction. I think if they just added a bit more flair from the old games, like enemy variety and of course branching story arcs with multiple characters, it would be perfect.

Finished Layers of Fear the other day. It was ok and pretty creepy. It's one of those games where you just walk around looking for notes/clues/memories. There are no weapons and you don't fight enemies but you can "die" although you don't get a game over scenario. The horror aspect is pretty well done. Not a game that I would buy but I got it free with Games with Gold so for that it was worth the play. 6.5 out of 10.

Beat GTA V this time on PS4.

Next up Witcher 3 Complete Edition. It might take forever because I can only play it when nobody else is home.

Congrats.  That is not an easy game.  I beat both the new DKC games, but didn't enjoy the 'physics' very much and thus didn't even attempt 100%ing them.  Quick question: is it possible to get 101%, like in the original DKC games, or does it stop at 100% ?

Actually it goes to 200%. There is the hard mode too! Not going to try that anytime soon!

7. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 9/10

First actual great 3d Zelda, it only took them, 6 tries.

8. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - 5/10

It packs a nice punch, that's where all its positives end, and everything else ranges from out right poor to at best average. Luckily the stuff it does poorly, I don't give a shit about (the story)

9. Kathy Rain - 4/10

Tom Towers, why is your genre of choice, the point n click so fucking lame?
