So I have a 2DS, because the 3D effects on the launch 3DS did not work for me at all.

But now I am really into the Zelda 3DS and it is apparent that some of the levels in the game use 3D, and while you can get around it, I'm clearly not having the experience the devs intended.

I've been looking to get the "New" 3DS, they run around $210 down here if you can get a deal.

Worth the investment? What other games for the 3DS would justify the purchase?

There are so many 3DS games and they all use the 3D effect so literally everything would be worth it. But only if it worked for your eyes. Is there any way you could check out the New 3DS hands on to see if it works for you now?

Nope, played Link Between Worlds without that nonsense on. Everything that makes that Zelda actually enjoyable, unlike a shit load of its 3d counterparts, had nothing to do with some visual gimmick.

I think I remember maybe one puzzle that required the 3-D effect, but really your common sense will bridge the gap if you do not I have it on or use it.

Defo get the N3DS aspro.  Best purchase you'll ever make.  Sell your kidney if needed.  Sell as many as you can spare.

Hope that helped to boost your impulse spending inner self.  yes

I'd say it's worth it if you plan on getting games that benefit from it, or if you feel the OS is too sluggish on a 2DS/3DS.  The only games that seem to really benefit from the N3DS I can think of off the top of my head are MonsterHunter 4 (better textures + camera control) and Hyrule Warriors (game is reportedly unplayable on ye olde 3DS).  I think there's a monster hunter demo on the eShop, so if you're interested in the game, you can always try it out to see how well it runs.  I didn't find there to be any problems with it on my 3DS.

Don't listen to these jerks.

IF and I mean IF - you can confirm that the New 3DS, 3D effect works for you then get it. Playing 3DS games in 2D is like wiping your ass with tracing paper.

If you don't buy an N3DS I will personally fly over to Australia and beat up your kids. All of them! That's a promise, not a threat so for their safety you better buy a N3DS today!

Also for the finacial well-being of your bestest friend Robio.  Don't make him fall prey to a life long of being in debt because he had to pay for a flight all the way to Australia just to do you the favor of beating up your kids.  Won't somebody think of the Robio?

Of course he does. He's Australian.  He has kids in every port in the world.

If that's true then why take the trouble to travel all the way to Australia in the first place?  indecision  You could just go beat up some orfans in the local ports.

Well I did say all of his kids. Odds are he's got one living in the wilds of Tasmania or hanging out in the outback with Paul Hogan.

You should turn to a producer of documentaries and get them to film, and more importantly pay for, the whole shebang.  You could travel the globe, looking for his offspring, with each episode culminating in a manhunt where you trace them down, chase them, and ultimately slap them on the head.  "Robio's Aspro-offspring slap"  Once you're a big hit you could even make a perfect videogame adaptation of it.

This could be a perfect VR game. You walk around, move items, and eventually you find the kid who will be wearing a shirt that says, "where are you poppa Aspro?" Then you raise up your pimp hand and slap the kid before it dodges.

We can get Vader to beta test it for us.

Good call.  Each continent could be a different chapter and would have its own specific obstacles and enemies.  Tasmania could have a T-rex for that all important wow effect Vader desribed.  They've still got dinosaurs in Tasmania, right?  You'd have to change Aspro to something else though, he might sue you for royalties if you'd use his real name.  Perhaps Bill Fagg or something similar?

Not a bad idea.

Of course if Aspro buys a New 3DS this will all become a moot point anyway.

You should get a N3DS more so for the bigger screens, better battery life, the added analog button, and the faster processor.

No. The devils ate them all.

Don't forget to factor in demo-ing and marketing costs when drawing up your funding proposal, although I think Vader would volunteer his time...
