I don't need more games when I got Rocket League! 200+ hours and counting baby.

I'd play more if I had the time, but I suspect it's turned into COD or any other online shooter where noobs are shunned.

Wasteland is nothing like Xcom, or even old Xcom. It's Wasteland, a crpg, Xenonauts is al ot like Xcom, and in comparison to Wasteland 2 it's a way better game. I can deal with a slow burn, and I like crpgs, but Wasteland 2's first 20 hours of waste your fucking time bullshit before it finally begins to provide some real rewards for how you're doing things is a chore to get through before the game becomes interesting. It's lengthy and it's bloated, something they didn't fix from my understanding. At the least the UI stuff has been adjusted to mitigate some of the bs.
Divinity Original Sin on the other hand is a personal favorite from last year, a really good rpg game with a combat system that I feel is, that's right Towers, Divine. It's one of the best isometric rpg battle systems period, easily clowning so many would be classic jrpg turn based jrpg battlesystems.
Talos Principle is rad. Who knew a someone can comeback from making crap like Serious Sam to make an actual good puzzle, however they don't make Hotline Miami. Not even close. That information is way the fuck off. The devs aren't even from the same country unless Croation devs are suddenly a part of Sweden.
Musuo games are dog shit.
Tales of anything has been the same game it's always been since Tales of Symphonia, and Vesperia is any indication they are still overly bloated with a shit load of filler, with battle systems that require zero thought or effort, with a bunch of anime characters.
Yo-Kai Watch looks lame, Legend of Legacy or whatever mildly sounds interesting, so at least that's something that has potential to surprise.
Otherwise no Triple A games, no Platinum for this selection of games other than Talos and Divinity? No thanks. Hell Divinity and Talos aren't good enough for No Platinum.
It says pretty specifically in the trailer for Talos Principle "CroTeam" and "Devolver Digital"...
Maybe Devolver did the console port? I only mentioned the two because Talos is a game unlike anything either of them have been previously known for.
Who says there aren't enough AAA? There is too much to play. I have no clue what I will do with November, it's insane.
Rocket League is as AAA as it gets. We need another RL night. I wish Steel and I could play together.
We can't choose to group together, only randomly run into each other on the field, right?
No we totally can. Not on ranked, mind you. But for private matches, yeah it's doable. I've been playing with a bunch of Steam and PS4 guys for weeks now.
All the games in this topic are getting pretty damn respectable scores!
There are people that love 'em and of course people that hate 'em...
The people that gave low reviews just don't LIKE the types of games they are.
Musou, Computer RPGs and Puzzle games are --REALLY-- specific audiences!
People look at me like I am crazy when I say this, but I ---LOVED--- the Saga Frontier games on the PSOne! They were as niche as niche comes, but I loved them. The art style in the second one was gorgeous, the battle systems had really interesting ideas... They were never story heavy, because there were typically so many characters and stream-lined storylines that the plot took a backseat to unique gameplay.
They're kinda like a rogue, rpg in that it's almost hard to tell what skill your going to earn from fighting enemies. There were spells that used the environments you were in to various different, unpredictable effect... If I remember right, sometimes the attack you used came down to the spinning of a roulette-like wheel! I LOVE rogue games... I --LOVE-- games that are kinda random and atypical. Sometimes I don't mind the lack of a sprawling, overly-dramatic, overly complex plot. Sometimes I just want to fight battles and strategize...
Everything I loved about the Saga games is everything Legend of Legacy is!
Look quick! Which one is Saga Frontier and which one is Legend of Legacy?
See what I mean?
ROB--I--OOOOOOOO ! ! !
As a Dragon Quest fan you --HAVE TO, HAVE TO, HAVE TO-- try Dragon Quest Heroes ! ! ! From the music at the opening title screen to the tune that plays in the menu and text screens... The re-imagining of DQ monsters in a Dynasty Warriors-like setting... The CG scenes with the monsters in them. They have a semi "realistic" look to them but they are DQ through and through... From the spell sounds to the Heal Slime, Healix', dialogue **lots of goos and slurps!** to the Treasure Chests, Mini-Medals, the Level Up clarion-call... I was BEAMING, ear to ear GRINNING like an idiot in the first 30 seconds of the game loading!! It's a Warriors game, it's a DQ game. The playable characters are typical DQ... Seeing a battlefield brimming with Skeletons, Drackies and Mages and Slimes... So cool, so unreal... AWESOME ! ! !
AWE-SOME ! ! !
My back doesn't seem to be getting any better, despite everything I've been doing. My spinal degredation being discovered may very well have been a case of too little, too late, but I'm not throwing in the towel yet. It has been the reason I haven't been doing a lot of things for the last few months... Not gonna turn this topic into a discussion about that though! Tryin' to keep it positive!
I don't know why exactly, but of all the trailers I posted in this topic, Talos Principle gives me chills, every time...
I like to focus on the fact that, despite what ever's going on in my life, there are still gaming related things that can do that!
