Exactly what they did in the game. Nice!!!
Also link obviously is not clothed properly yet so that is probably the start of the game.
I want to be able to pick those apples from the trees, and plant them anywhere we want to grow more trees. Also catch and collect those insects Miyamoto mentioned, and fish too! Elder Scrolls + Zelda + Animal Crossing = Epic!

Maybe Wiimote will be an option like in Pikmin 3?! With wiimote you will have to aim your swings, without it link automatically aims, you just press a button.
Dvader said:Sail cloth is cool, works great in a game like this but he needs better flying tools in this game. I hope you get some wings kind of thing or a glider.
Well the glider is from Skyward Sword, so they might put that bird in as wel!
I love the huge, Skyrim like map. I'm hoping they were holding back on the enemies and things to do. They should realize you can't have this big, beautiful playground and no toys.
Well, that video sucked the fun out of the reveal trailer. The world looks soulless and dead.
I think it's interesting that it appears that Link has visited some dungeons before receiving his green tunic. Maybe those are just pieces of heart found in the overworld. Or maybe they are changing his looks for once.
The map reminds me of the Zelda 2 map. Wasn't Zelda 1 set on one side of Death Mountain and 2 on the other side? hopefully, we will have something like that.
Is it just me or are the rock textures crap? World is empty too. This is what you open-world moaners wanted? Are you not entertained!! Is this not what you ask... etc
Every tree looks the same.
Yeah GG it looks extremely unfinished, I assume this is why Nintendo doesn't like to show stuff early.
If link doesn't get a green tunic I refuse to buy it.
The game is a year away. Of course it's not finished yet. I wasn't expecting to see any new Zelda footage until E3 2015.
Have faith in master Miyamoto, people!
Watching it now full screen in HD. Why is the gyro movement janky? They need to sort the trees out, hopefully they are just placeholders. They need a tree randomizer software tool.
Anyone notice that the framerate was super smooth and there was no horrendous pop up? That jumping move looks ridiculous, why would one jump off a horse to shoot an arrow? Seems like they just did it so they can prove the E3 trailer was actually gameplay.
Looks good from what was shown. After Super Mario 3D World I've learned never to judge a Nintendo game in the early stages, so I'm holding off any on really analyzing too much of the new Zelda game. But I do have to admit I like the idea that it might be like the original in the sense of the game's scale and openess. That would be a good thing.
Nintendo always works on the graphical touches last so they will have more variety between trees and the textures on the rocks will look better.

Hyrule warriors improved a lot.

I'm confused. Is that a happy turtle or a sad turtle?
I don't have much time, but I just wanted to add that while the animation is good, it's not perfect. You can see the horse 'slide' to the left to avoid a tree without any propper animation.
Also, I wonder what the difference is in having a horse with an auto-pilot, traversing large samey landscapes, as opposed to having a boat with an auto-pilot, traversing large samey seas.

I think the horse is more difficult because there is more stuff to get caught on, rocks, trees, mountains, canyons etc.
So we got a bunch of footage from Zelda now. Lets break it down!

The map, holy shit!!!! Look at how tiny the distance to the waypoint is to the rest of the map, and that might be a piece of the map. Woah!
Animation is superb, the game looks like a cartoon brought to life. But every tree looks exactly the same, like it was just copy pasted over and over.
Those mountain views!!! Oh notice he has 5 hearts and a big magic meter.

Auto navigating epona is great, so many times you go to aim with the bow and smack against a wall when not looking forward. Nice addition.
"I saw apples growing there last time" so there will be some form of life cycle for plants. He said you can pick and eat them, new form of health? Something else?
You can still lock on aim if you want. Free aim allows you to use the gyro or stick, thats nice. Jumping off the horse into slow mo is cool but aren't these games easy enough already. A matrix like move that allows you to kill everything seems a bit much.
Up and down arrows on the d-pad seemed to change the item in the item box on the top right, it was set to arrow. I wonder will we not have presets to all the face buttons?
Game world is nearly empty, clearly that is not anywhere close to being final. That said now I can see that action sequence from E3 actually play out in real time in the game. They definetly have the room to create a chase like that. The game is going to need a lot of moments like that to keep that open world interesting. We will need to see what they do with questing and dungeons. Please dont make it open world just to be open world.
The good thing is we are finally getting this
And that is my dream for this series. I just wished they showed something compelling.
