In your account settings you can now toggle whether you appear in the recently spotted list.  This also prevents your "last seen" from updating on your profile.

If it is easy to put together an end of year summary of site stats would be of interest (in it's own thread).  Like which GGWeekly had the most comments, most active thread, most popular news story, most active month overall.  Whatever you think would be of interest.

My suggestion of the day:

Goal: Make reviews more accessible.

I'd like to be able to browse through the reviews.  When picking a game to play it's always interesting to see if anyone around here has thoughts on it.

Suggestion: Maybe a page as basic as an A-Z at the top with the page body filled with the most recent or most commented on reviews?  So if I click on D, I'd see all the reviews for Dead Space, Disgaea etc...

That will happen when I replace the entire current review structure.  Not as big of a job as it sounds.

I would like to suggest an Ignore User option. If we can't show our disapproval of constant instigating, trolling and incessant argumentative behavior, at least let us ignore the person permanently.

I'm going to formally suggest that the voting posts up and down option needs to either go or be changed.

The minusing of posts seems to be used in almost a gang up way and always seems to elicit bad feelings on the site and a negative response.

Maybe leave the option in of plusing posts up though.

Once again Yoda I put these suggestions forward. It's about time this happened.

Hold it, forget about your personal spats for a moment -- this is not what we expect from each other.  This isn't even out of jest, you're just outright saying we ought ignore each other.  Fine, there's a flare up, deal with it.

You want to talk about eliciting negative responses, it's this.  It's not arbitrary numbers; it's disrespectful rubbish like this.  Get it together.

I think that's his point. Some people don't deal with it and just mass minus a user without discussing the topic. Unless you really made the minus button as a way for people to secretly and quietly state that "I disagree" or "I hate you for that conversation from a year ago so I'll minus every one of your posts" or whatever, which I doubt. And yes, I'm guilty of doing that some time ago but I did get tired of seeing each one of my posts get a minus or a ton regardless of the subject just because of a previous argument. Abuse leads to abuse. Only having a positive button seems like a fine solution to me, you give points to people for any reason you like but don't take them away like a child for unrelated shit or without even bothering to take part in the discussion. I don't even care for the points, it's the childish attitude that's annoying as hell. And why so pissy over a few suggestions? My 2 cents.

Read between the lines.  Those weren't just meant to be suggestions.

People actually care about the plus minus button???

It seems like a bad misunderstanding lead to an ugly fight. GG was a bit more attack ready than usual. this is a family, we forgive and move on.

I agree with Vader.  Let's move on.  This is just a disagreement that got WAY out of hand.  Remember, we're all just a bunch of guys (friends) who've known each other for a long time.  We enjoy hanging out and discussing games and whatever the hell else together.  You two have been friends for too long to let this get to you.

I detest the minus button.  Sometimes it used out of anger, sometimes out of jest.  It causes more misunderstandings and gets people upset which bothers me.

Nope it's not, it's like what Leo said above when he was having problems with a different poster:

"I would like to suggest an Ignore User option. If we can't show our disapproval of constant instigating, trolling and incessant argumentative behavior, at least let us ignore the person permanently."

This is something I wanted on Gamespot and I would want anywhere else. It's a personal option, a choice to ignore a user of your choice that would stop this kind of annoying crap. If my posts are so offensive to a particular person they should have the right to not see it and vice versa. It's more than one spat, it's a series of long running spats which I have had enough of.

The ignore feature was previously jokingly called a Silence Iga button, this is not some new idea.

That's how I feel. I use the minus button because it's there, but I would much rather do without it.

I would have felt the same a year ago, but I'm honestly sick of this. Everything I say is fodder for Leo, I laugh most of it off, I joke here and there. But then when there is the slightest thing Leo disagrees with, he gets to throw all his toys out of the pram with no consequences. Why the double standard? And why is it always aimed at me?

Maybe he feels the same about me, who knows but I am sick of this shit.

I poke fun at Steel. I poke fun at Vader. I poke fun at Aspro. Hell, I certainly poke fun at Archie and Hamster also...

And I poke fun (and get poked back by Steel and Foolz) for instance. But there is a difference between sarcasm as an obvious joke and malicious sarcasm which was what you posted in my blog on Christmas Eve of all days.

I'd say don't dish it if you can't take it.

I take particular offence at this comment, for a start I am the person on this site who takes it the most and has no problem with it.

There is a lot of stuff that is said on this site and I like to assume the best of people, I take it as a joke, or I make a joke, or if it annoys me I will not post a comment, or shrug it off for the sake of peace and having a nice happy environment. But on the same note I don't then expect people to jump down my throat for the tiniest little thing like posting a pic of a cat rolling a watermelon.

You saying don't dish it out if you can't take it is particularly hypocritical. You make an entire blog post that copies and pastes my blog and links it to a game called Cock out. I didn't bat an eyelid, I never had an issue with it, I took it in good humour and didn't cause a stink. I still don't care, but then you go post snide comments in my blog when you think I am making fun of your blog by posting a cat rolling a watermelon pic.

If you actually asked me what I think about the people who make large and insightful end of year lists, I would say that I admire them more than anything as it's something I can't do because of forgetfulness and laziness. I read and participated in ASK and Darths Blogs - though admittedly it's impossible to keep up with Darth's one blog a day every day for 25 days posts.

Ravenprose made a similar blog to mine, supposed to be a gentle joke at the propensity of end of year best of lists. His blog was one game and then 24 empty slots. He put a smiley in there which was an indication that it was a joke, the cat rolling a watermelon in mine wasn't subtle enough I guess?

And you basically trolled me as well. As you well know, my cat died a few weeks ago. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to work out that that is the reason I am looking at these funny cat pics. I couldn't even put up a Christmas tree this year because it reminded me of how she used to play with the decorations. Looking at funny cat pics made me happy and made her death seem more bearable - but you basically shoved that back in my face on Christmas Eve of all days.

It would be like me thrusting a dead Grandma joke at you the day before her next birthday.

And then you have this fixation with Goldeneye, you pretend like it's the only game I played this year and that I take issue with anyone that doesn't like it and that it all comes back to Goldeneye. I may post a Hrm if someone doesn't like it, but that doesn't mean anything. It's like you with Meat Boy. I couldn't really care if someone likes it or not, just if the factual statements are true or not.

And what makes it worse is that you said to me that you never got so much flack for "liking a game" in Black Ops and then you turn around and give me the flack, that you disdained, because I like a game? What is that?

Anyhow, you should probably read this before you comment.

Setting aside all the other stuff ENTIRELY, I find your comment offensive. Yoda is not our code-monkey. We don't order Yoda to do anything, fuck, this site is already a billion times better than any of us deserve to begin with from a technical perspective, all at Yoda's personal expense, both in time and money.

We make suggestions, he implements them if he can or wants to, that's fine with me.  No offense at all intended GG, and I apologize if I mis-interpreted your comments, but I consider Yoda a real mench, and don't appreciate him being shoved around.
