Started Metro 2033 last night. It's pretty good. Started reading the book that inspired it as well and it is just as good, this should eb a good adventure.

By which you mean the writing in both are equally bad?
Also, make sure you try the Russian dub at least once. The level intros are the most drunken thing in any game ever.

Both Metros made me want to go back and read the source material for 2033 more than 2033. Roadside Picnic etc. But most seem to suffer from some pretty poor translations.
Now all we need is for you to call me a cunt in an endearing way and for me to take it as an insult and we can close the thread.

Random places I've stumbled into on the internet, various books and catalogues, documentaries and films and all those kitschy war museums they have. But I could be completely wrong (not sarcasm). And it's not in the context of American gun/war nerd culture which is often closely linked with patriotism, so it may just not come across so blatantly.
I am really enjoying reading the book while playing the game. Both are slightly better than average, but the game is better than the book.
