The most recent thing I read is that PSN will be taken down on May 31 and when they bring it back up (either the same day or on May1) the store will be back.

No not yet thats part of the Welcome back package it's not ready yet. If you do not choose to continue PSN + after the free month all the free + stuff is gone.

Oh, and the shop doesn't seem to be working very well. I was getting errors here and there as I navigated around.
Well at least it's some progress that we can actually observe. Hopefully all of that will be fixed for the weekend. I wouldn't mind downloading my freebies so that I have something for next week.

PSN+ was active a couple of days ago (I noticed the skydrive available to me).
So is the free stuff there yeat? I checked about 12 hours ago and it was not.
How do you get your free PSN+ subscription? I couldn't find any way to get it yet.
I didn't do anything. The skydrive was just there with the other memory save options (in the game menu). Is there anything else to look for?
