I finally picked up a copy of Star Fox 64 3D, new for $20. Been wanting this game for quite a while, but I was unwilling to play $40 for a cart-only version at Gamestop. Thanks goes to Nintendo for finally adding it to their Nintendo Selects line recently.
Picked up Red Dead Redemption 2 for the Xbox One today. It was on sale for $50 Canuck bucks. Woo hoo!

It’s pretty good but it’s no Star Tropics.
Bought 'The last days of June' in the Switch eShop sale. Was waiting for this to get a discount, and at 50% I took the plunge.
It's an interactive tale about loss of a relative (June). Not sure what to expect.
And I did spend about 30 minutes with Monster Hunter World and I fought a low-level monster just to get back into the groove, but wow. I completely suck all over again. Not sure if I'm going to need to start from scratch or just keep fighting schmuck battles to see if I can remember all the nuances.

Monster hunter is like riding a bicycle for me. I just slide right back in to it with the same skill I left the last game with. Although I do suspect that Capcom made slight changes to the Hammer weapon class, as for some reason their reach felt shorter than it did in other games.

I put in about 2 hours so far, and my first impressions are that it's actually like Kingdom Hearts without the Disney characters. Just pure Final Fantasy. Can't say I'm loving it yet, but there's a lot of hand-holding in there still working me through tutorials and explaining things to me like I'm 5 years old.
robio said:Wish I could say the same. I always have to spend some time ramping back up. every time I've played, I always have to start from scratch, but I'm going to try not to do that this time. I'm hoping there were enough quality of life changes the a lot of the little things will just be a matter of remembering which button to push.
Ugh, I'm still horrible at that. I'm wielding a Charge Blade and I press the wrong button combination at least twice every fight, even after having used it for 70+ hours. There's just something abou how the controls are mapped to the Xbox controller that doesn't sit well with me...
Downloaded Final Fantasy IX for the Xbox One today.
