I don't remember MGS being particularly hard. I'd say Cave shooters are missing. Can't believe IGN puts Radiant Silvergun in that list and leaves Cave shooters out of it.
MGS has absolutely no place on that list.
The rest is fine but you can put in a million games before the ones on that list. I bet there are near unplayable NES games that are impossible to beat. And no Zelda 2, what the hell.
"fanboys really hold "this is the hardest game ever" as a major point of contention."
DS fanboys take issue with that.
WTF is MGS doing on there?
Also the list should actually be renamed: "Really, Really Hard Games That Are Not Shit." They coulda come up with a lot of drastically harder games that were bad.

Yeah, WTF?
For me, I think the original Viewtiful Joe was hard on hard mode. And Commando on the Amstrad was hard, so is R-Type, the SNES sequel one.
I'm sorry, MGS? Hard?
For those wondering - here's the justification:
"Hailed as one the best games of all time, Metal Gear Solid is also one of the hardest. At the start of MGS, you'll probably get caught by guards who tracked your foot prints on the snowy ground of Shadow Moses. Thereafter, you quickly realize that you have to train yourself to think stealthy at all times. One particularly frustrating boss, Psycho Mantis, has psychic ability allowing him to read your mind and block all your attacks. Hint to beating him: the problem lies in your controller. Don't even bother attempting the Extreme difficulty unless you got the tactical chops of John Rambo. "Tactical Espionage Action" couldn't be more a fitting description of the series."
Yeah...that's not really that hard.
But otherwise, totally agree with most of that list.
Archangel3371 said:Oh yeah I definitely wouldn't have Dead Rising on that list either.
If you're going in blind, that game is a nightmare.
It's a Thanksgiving Day miracle. IGN finally wrote up a list that seems fairly credible. With something as benign as "hard games" I suppose it's a lot easier to be honest since not a whole lot of fanboys really hold "this is the hardest game ever" as a major point of contention. Here's the link - http://games.ign.com/articles/121/1213050p1.html but if you prefer not to give them the click, here's the rundown:
So there ya go. Thoughts? Anything left off?
