Wuxia review from Twitchfilm, directed by Peter Chan who did the Warlords

While Wu Xia will not cause the stir that pictures such as Crouching Tiger and Hero did on their release it is, nonetheless, one of the better films of the type from recent years and a welcome attempt to push the historical epic in a new direction.

Trailer for Johnnie To's LIFE WITHOUT PRINCIPLE

For those who don't know, Johnnie To is a very reliable Hong Kong director, very consistent quality usually making crime films.

Snowy looks too wimpy and Tintin too tough. Otherwise it's not as bad as I expected. Looks promising.

Ewww they made it sort of realistic, looks kinda weird to me. Don't like the voice actor for Tin Tin either.

Yeah, but at least it's not trying to be photorealistic or anything. Didn't really get to see enough to make a judgement on the style anyway.

I know but that is what makes it look weird, cartoonish characters with bizaarely realistic animation. Looks very awkward to me.

I read a little up on it a while back when it was announced, never heard of Tintin before that. It's Spielberg, it will be fantastic.

Tintin is great fun, it was a Belgian comic and while I was growing up they did quite a few animated movies which you can get in a boxset.

It's a sort of Indiana Jones like vibe.

I have faint memories of watching Tintin stuff when I was pretty young. Maybe I dreamed about it, doesn't sound likely.

I have almost all of the Tin Tin books.  My school had 3-4 of them in French to encourage us to read them.  The drawings are great, plenty of detail drawn from real life.

I still use plenty of the "profanity" that Captain Haddock would exclaim.

I got that boxset a few years ago.  The cartoons haven't aged so well though the stories are still good
