Oh yeah I'm definately excited for God of War 3. The first one was a great game and I found the second one to be even better. I'll finally get around to picking up a PS3 and hopefully the rumoured price-cut will be happening but either way I'll definately be getting one around April. MGS4, Killzone 2, and GoW3 will most likely be the first 3 games I get for it.
The second one to me is way better, the first was great at the time but pailed to games like DMC3 and NG. GoW2 though really came unto its own and was a true action/adventure masterpiece.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom

Interesting, I never heard that before. I really didn't pay attention before. No PS2

Yeah I was also impressed by how much better the second game was graphically as well.

Damn man, you really missed out on ALOT of great games.

Yup. I should have got a PS2 instead of Xbox in retrospect.

There are first person action games? I am talking about games like GoW, DMC, NG.
Breakdown (NAMCO), Mirror's Edge were the only FPA's I can think of.
To the topic you raise Foolz GoW actually got me into the Third Person Action Genre. Prior to the oriignal GoW I had no interest in the genre and now it's up there with JRPG and FPS for me.

Go play the first one, or the PSP one since it's the pre-quel. They are solid third-person action games. High production values.
That's the part that turns me off... Third-person action games are very hit and miss with me and generally I just find them boring.

I know, and I often find them excruciatingly boring.

The story of my life.

An illustration. When MS pulled the plug on XB releases I had exactly 108 titles for the XB and 108 titles for the PS2. It was not something I tried to do, it just worked out that way. I now have 293 PS2 titles and 185 XB games. So that's a pretty good indicator of console library depth and longevity.
Kratos looks like a rubber cadaver with Ebenezer Scrooge's head attached. All he needs is a top hat to complete the look:

From a first look at playable code in high definition, the signs are positive. The work this team has put into the game is immediately evident from the bulging biceps of the Son of Zeus to the intricate, gory details as he eviscerates enemies, leaving entrails in his wake (always the best way to go). Factor in the additional development time that's still allocated and, simply put, this isn't your PS2 God of War.
