So 3DS doesn't have some other gimmick to it. So Sony could easily include a 3D PSP2 Screen and then all 3rd party games would be cross platform.

Knowing Sony they will easily jump frog Nintendo on other media functions too. Maybe Nintendo should have kept 3D-S secret till today.

That's what the internal studios have been working on all along. While the 3rd parties were making their games, they were working on their pet project - The 3DS.
