So the big ps4 update went live today and we can now do share play. Basically this is a virtual couch, we can invite a friend over and they can either watch, take control of a game of even pick up the second controller and play local multiplayer over the connection.

We can try out games others have be we don’t. I can jump into your game and help you get past a difficult section if need be. We can finally play towerfall online!

So i would like to try this out.. Anyone getting lords of the fallen? I want to try that. Of I expect nothing as trying to get anyone on this site to do anything online is like moving icebergs.

Feel free to ask me about share play at any time. I don’t bite, just ask if you ever want to see or need help on anything.

I have the same thing, but with sports.  But why would you watch someone play a game, while you could be co-oping something with them?  Displaced local co-op sounds too good to be true.  And thanks to lag, it probably is.

It works, not for me that well since my upload is doodoo but for most it is a perfect seemless experience.

Its playing with them not watching. You can play any local 2 player game together even if the other person doesn't own the game. Or you can let the other person play any game you have. Its the most amazing extra feature any console has ever had, its insane.

But unfortunately there are no games with local multiplayer.

Nintendo should add this feature to Wii U. They are the king of local multiplayer. Super Mario Cats, anyone?
