I'm a little bummed I won't be playing it anytime soon, but on the other hand, that's probably a good thing. As much as I love the game, I've played through it over half a dozen times in previous versions. The 2D HD version has a few extra features, but nowhere near enough to really make it a different experience. So justifying $60 to replay something I've played so many times before won't have to be a round of mental gymnastics for me.
Square Enix seems to be their own worst enemy. Don't support every platform that millions of people are currently using, then complain their games underperform.
Honestly, I don't think the Dragon Quest 3 decision is solely on S-E. Sony is struggling like hell to sell ps5s in Japan. The two companies have a really good relationship, and I wouldn't be shocked If Sony gave SE some financial compensation to forgo the PS4 In hopes of moving a few more ps5s.
Yeah, pretty sure Sony threw some money at SquareEnix to hold off on a PS4 version of Dragon Quest III 2D-HD.
S-E is putting it on every other system in the world. So why not PS4? It wouldn't have taken any more work to make it cross gen. So it's omission by choice. And to me it seems like Sony has more to gain by that than they do.
I downloaded Valve's free Half Life 2 20th Anniversay update. Lots of improvements and bug fixes. I have it running at max settings 4K resolution with HDR. It looks amazing. It could almost pass for a current gen release, certainly more enjoyable.
I'm playing Jet Set Radio Future for the first time, and I don't know what people are thinking believing this is superior to Jet Set Radio.
The level design is confusing, constantly pressing start to find graffiti markers is annoying, graffiti dumbed down to just pressing the right trigger is dumb, grinding is too easy, wall riding is rare, and the soundtrack is far inferior.
One of the site's forefathers.
Play fighting games!
I kind of got burned out on Prince of Persia and moved on to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Metroid Prime.
This weekend I've been playing Warcraft 2 (Dos) and Qbert (arcade).
Hmm, so far no racing games? I need to correct that later.
This weekend been playing some Spyro Reignited and trying to find some of the hidden stuff in The Last of Us Part II.
I played nothing again. Best of intentions but just too much going on.
I've put a few more hours into Mario & Luigi. Met one character who speaks with a high enough ratio of horrible puns to meet expectations. There are some neat concepts in the game. I like how the fact that you're aboard this huge floating island is tackled in game, where it actually requires time for the ship to travel somewhere new and you fill that time with sidequesting. Also a brave move that if you pass by a new island you'll have to sail another round of the local 'current' before it comes into view again. I can imagine a lot of people wouldn't enjoy this though.
As it stands it's still an inferior game to the Mario + Rabbids games though.
