This weekend I managed to get a 5080 for $1200... sigh.

Congrats!

Man, I'd love to build an uber gaming PC but those prices remind me why I'm still primarily a console gamer. Also, I get really OCD with all the graphics options and fiddle with them more than playing, lol

If Switch 2 CPU and GPU ran at their documented max speeds it would be a 4 teraflop device.

I don't get this 3gb RAM reserved for Gamechat. I'm not using that damn camera so would my games have access to more resources, compared to someone streaming video to someone else?

3GB for video chat? That's nuts.

Someone at S-E really needs their head looked at. I still can't believe they went with a more realistic art style for the new Kingdom Hearts.

I also started Doom, I get 90fps with everything super max so great performance. I only played 4 levels but I am not enjoying as much as I hoped. I am one of the Eternal lovers, there are those that hated the direction Eternal went with maybe they like what they did her, to me its a huge step back at least early in the game. Its too much just parrying and shield bashing into punch combos. Its a ton of punching things... in Doom. Ehh.

It's a prequel so it has to have simplified gameplay. Nyaa It look fun but repetitive. It reminds me of the Serious Sam games.

It didn't seem like that much of a departure to me. Sora learned to comb his hair.

That shot of Mickey Mouse on the chandeliers looked cool. I don't have an opinion beyond that, though, since I've never played that series

Nice to finally start seeing some Kingdom Hearts 4 stuff. Hopefully we’ll start seeing some trailers and the game isn’t too far away now. Really enjoyed the previous games so am looking forward to this new one.

Mickey does look great. But I think they're making Sora too human looking now. In the first games he was cartoony and exaggerated looking, and while they did take a step in that direction for KH3, he still kept that overall look.

Nintendo released info on free Switch 2 upgrades on existing games.

In typical Nintendo fashion they didn't give specific framerate or resolution numbers.

But all games seem to have resolution improvements, presumably 1440p or 4k?

And alot of the games get framerate improvements too. As well as HDR support.

And gameshare is being added to multiple titles.

I'm personally most interested in Mario Odyssey. Portable it was too soft and with hdr should look great.

Also the enhancements to ARMS should spark a second wind. I think it was already 1080p 60fps so it will now be higher with HDR and apparently the framerate won't be halved with multiple players now.

I know most people ignored this game, but played with a controller grip or pro controller it's great.

I was reading that Red Dead Redemption 2 sold 74 million copies. It sold four million copies this year, more than the latest Assassin's Creed. Crazy numbers.

But I don't want serious Sam lol

GG Doom still has good level design. Yeah some levels are way more spread out but there are plenty of nooks and crannies with secrets to make it feel fun. The large flat levels serve to put loads of enemies on screen which is where the serious Sam comparisons come in.

I've played it for a couple hours so far tonight. It has Quake, Painkiller and Serious Sam DNA  for sure. It's a LOT of fun. Finally, 90s PC FPS' return!

There's some many enemies it looks like a chore to get through. I've already hit a wall in Doom Eternal where I'm not bothered doing a section if it's too repetitive with too many enemies.

I'm currently playing A Link to the Past. Is there any other Zelda game as polished as this one?

It is repetitive but there's quite a bit to the parry mechanics that keep the battles interesting. id has toned down the default difficulty too. I'm playing on "Hurt Me Plenty" and I haven't died once yet. Theres lots of options to make it harder, though.  It's a great stress relief game after a long, hard work week, lol.

Graphically, it's looks great but it also looks artistically less appealing than Eternal on PS5. It's plays quite differently from Eternal too. No crazy platforming; Glory kill are mostly gone.  Controlling mechs is cool.

Switch 2 only supporting VRR in handheld mode is so stupid. WTF, Nintendo? Fix it.

Can you ride the dragon wherever you want like a car in gta?

They might be able to patch it, but DF is saying the hdmi display port in the dock might not be compliant.

Seems a touch ridiculous if they planned VRR as a screen function but forgot to update the dock to use it on a tv.

No, you can't fly the dragon whenever you like. Just specific levels. The game is very linear. It's not a open world game at all.

Aw I was worried about that. Given the larger environments, vehicles might be cool. Or horse riding?
