Don't get a stomach virus. Spent all Super Bowl weekend pooping and vomitting, but im eating again, so I think i'm back. State of Play today was ok, Shinobi is cool, Onimusha looks fun, fake Returnal 2 should be great, cool looking Pixeljunk game, fake GTA is intriguing, fake Death Stranding (hell is us) has potential, and some chinese action games which I am always willing to give a try.
I have been playing Metaphor but hit a wall with playing, its really good, I enjoy it but it goes on for so long. Im like 60-70 hours in and still have so much more to do. The last dungeon i did went on for like 4 hours, repetition repitition... Once you know how to beat an enemy you know how to beat them so the fights mostly play out the same. Bosses are tough but they come once every so many hours. Outside of dungeons its just a glorified visual novel. This is my first Atlus RPG and might be my last, I don't see myself playing Persona if its this structure. I took a break and decided to play the FF16 dlc i never played, so much better, actual action, im home .
Finished Baldur's Gate 3 this weekend. First time in years I've made it through a game, let alone one with 100 hour completion time. It's a flawed game, but it does so many things right with such an absurd volume of content that it's hard to complain much, even with the convoluted ending. It really took the available disk space in modern games to less be wildly wasteful, but rather, have endless recorded dialogue, characters, and quests (close to 2 million words of dialogue and 174 hours of dialogue scenes, close to 2000 characters).
I'm expecting to go back through for another run, but first I've started on Dragon Age: Veilguard. I haven't played the previous games. For a long time Dragon Age and Dragon's Dogma were the same thing in my head. It's an adjustment from BG3. It definitely has a bit of EA feel that I was happy did not exist in BG3 and was probably some of its charm. But it's got style and personality. Combat feels really clunky at times, but occasionally is very satisfying. Still early, so I'll have to see where it goes.
They are so different that it might work out for you. Still BG3 is just at a different level than DA. Still DA is an enjoyable ride.
GG playing Doom Eternal, that game is hardcore but one of the greats.

yeah, that is the Persona formula. It was more digestible with Persona 3 and 4 when the games capped out at about 70 hours or so. But then Persona 5 went to 100 hours and that seems to be the sweet spot now. SMTV also broke 100 hours. Atlas just seems to think that's what people want. Hell, maybe they do. Their games certainly seem to be selling better than ever.
And fuck these people stabbing children. Like that demon who killed those girls in the UK last year.
I assume that anti-depressants and lonliness have more to do with this than what was blamed in this last case, Fortnite.
Did mass murders even happen before the 1960's? I'm not talking serial killers like Jack the ripper, I mean these evil c-words who take out groups of people at a time. I guess I could internet the answer, but I'm not going to depress myself at this time of night.
I really need to get back to Doom Eternal and finish it up. Was enjoying it at the time.

That's weird, Capcom has always been big launch supporters. :
