Ah, but Doom Eternal isn't a sequel to the Doom series, though. It's id Software's take on Super Mario Bros. Nyaa

While I agree that Doom 2016 is a better game, Doom Eternal is a great game too. Everything in this game is a puzzle, including the battle arenas. I like that a lot. Unfortunately, the combat is way, way too difficult for me, and I'm playing on easy! LOL If it had come out 20 years ago, I would have beaten it on Hard five times and loved every minute of it.

I liked Eternal more, like you said every combat experience is like a puzzle. To me it's like solving problems at ridiculous speeds while everything is trying to kill you, it's brilliant. The level design was great as well.

no no no. That is not what Doom is.  Doom is not puzzle solving, it's about mowing everyone the fuck down (with occasional wall humping to open secreet rooms). LOL

All the Capcom Arcade stadium games are on sale for less than a dollar.

Picked up a bunch, I've avoided many vertical orientation games, but bought a couple.

Picked up Forgotten Worlds
Streetfighter Alpha 3 (X-ism wtf?)
Vampire Saviors (Darkstalkers 3)
Earth
1944 the loop master
Pro Gear
Ghouls and Ghosts and more

My God the arcade version of Ghouls and Ghosts on medium difficulty is one of the hardest games ever made. Thank God for all the assistance options.

BTW, I no longer have switch online, can someone check, I'm sure the SNES ver had a double jump. There's only a single jump here.

The worst thing about the game is when you accidently pick up the blue fireball weapon that's as useful as a fart in a paper bag.

You don't even lose it when you die and respawn.

Also, the Capcom Arcade stadium has versions of the best em up bundle. Only it seems the features of the Arcade stadium are better.

For a start you can max out the screen space rather than only 4:3.

You also have multiple save slots and the rewind feature. Most of the beat em ups aren't that hard so I won't bother.

Wish all companions would take a Stadium approach and let you buy only the games you want. The Capcom Fighting Collection and Marvel vs Capcom collection has some games I want and lots I don't need. With no cheaper way to pick up individual games.

Let's hope for Arcade Stadium 3.

They should also merge Stadium 1 and 2 under one roof. Having to boot up one stadium then the other to change games is odd.

I also like how later schmups stopped being vertically orientated.

4:3 ftw, Pro Gear and 1944 the Loop Master.

Pulled off a miracle in Ganryu 2, used invincibility power up get through these wooden spiked poles. Then managed to pull far enough to the next checkpoint.

It looked impossible, the next part had floating spikes you had to weave through. Then this giant spider boss.

Somehow made it through, now on the final level. It's honestly such an enjoyable game, your sword strikes and movement feels clinical and powerful.

Anyone considered getting Slayer X?

New PS State of Play in a few hours. I'm not expecting much but I am hopeful for a new Ridge Racer and Wipeout, or at least an HD collection of those would be great.

Oh, new Ridge Racer and Wipeout with PSVR2 support would be awesome! One can dream.

I would very much love to see a new Ridge Racer game as well. Some stuff that I would like to see in today’s State of Play is:

  • Spider-Man 2 dlc
  • Wolverine
  • Bluepoint’s game

I normally don't. Some of my neighbors do. I'm fairly inland (as far as Florida goes) so I can get by without it.

All that said the hurricane shifted enough that other than some gust and bands I won't be affected too much. Vader is still in some sketchy territory, but in all likelihood he'll be fine too.

Atari 50 paid DLC ($7.99) adds 19 more games. Arcade versions of Berserk, Frenzy, and Red Baron make it worth it but I'm really bummed there's no new Lynx, 7800, or Jaguar games included.

Berzerk - 2600
Berzerk Voice Enhanced - 2600
Berzerk - 5200
Berzerk - Arcade
Frenzy - Arcade
Red Baron - Arcade
Sky Diver - Arcade
Avalanche - Arcade
Destroyer - Arcade
Super Bug - Arcade
Football - Arcade
Stellar Track - 2600 (Sears exclusive)
Submarine Commander - 2600 (Sears exclusive)
Steeplechase - 2600 (Sears exclusive)
Atari Video Cube - 2600
Desert Falcon - 2600
Off the Wall - 2600
Sky Diver - 2600
Avalanche - Atari 8-bit
