12/29/25 - Rising prices for RAM could delay the introduction of the next generation of consoles. According to Insider Gaming, the rapidly growing demand for AI applications and the associated shortage of RAM are leading to intense discussions at the executive level of the industry.
In recent months, the prices for RAM modules have increased by several hundred percent. This development puts a strain on the calculation for competitive mass production of consoles. The concern concerns not only future devices, but also possible further price increases for current consoles in 2026.
Console manufacturers are therefore examining whether the previously expected release period of 2027 to 2028 should be postponed in the hope of expanding production capacities and falling prices. Regardless of this, an additional increase in the price of the existing generation is considered likely.

As in the previous parts of the series, the focus is once again on a society on the verge of collapse. Evidence points to an isolated city in an extreme environment, where snow and cold play a central atmospheric role. In addition to narrow urban areas, there are also extensive landscapes with gorge-like structures, which suggests greater spatial diversity. Technical test models show cables, machines and architecture that take up and continue the stylized look of BioShock Infinite.
Several sources speak to MP1ST.com of a district called Solaria or Solaris as well as of a group called Solarians - what function these people play remains open. A ruling elite, a hostile faction or an integral part of urban society are conceivable. A large casino is considered a secure setting and could be used for central action moments or larger battles. Gambling has a tradition in the series and apparently takes on a new dimension here.
BioShock 4 may also tie in with familiar motifs when it comes to the characters: Internal designations such as Male Flusher suggest enemy types reminiscent of the Splicers from Rapture. There are also indications of the return of ADAM, the substance that confers superhuman abilities and at the same time creates dependence. This brings the topic of moral decay through power and progress back into focus.
A central symbol seems to be a golden statue showing a man in a carrying pose. Several of these figures together support a large sphere, suggesting a revered leader or ideologue. The depiction follows the tradition of charismatic antagonists who ideologically shape their cities. A possible protagonist appears only indirectly, recognizable as an elegantly dressed figure in the style of the mid-century aesthetic. Whether this is the main character or a placeholder model remains unclear.
Certainly not surprising to see new systems possibly being delayed given the current economic climate.

Well as of today the game went back up and priced a $50. Yes that's only a difference of $15, but God damn it I have principles. And I can't confidently call myself a hobo gamer if I spend that much on a game.

Damn Outlast has great graphics, then you pick up the camera and whether you're actually using it or not the game obliterated the visuals with a mandatory film grain you can't disable.
What a waste, even the first corridor looked equivalent to RE9 to me.

That Stranger Things finale was fantastic. They stuck the landing.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that Stranger Things finale. They did a good job wrapping it up. Appreciate the length of time between the later seasons. The older cast worked very well with how they ended things.
