Played some Little Nightmares II and a bit of Hades this weekend. Also watched WWE’s WrestlePalooza which was their debut on the ESPN+ streaming service. Bad name and was a very mediocre show.

I struggled to find anything on the Switch 2 to play until Borderlands 4 and SMG2 arrive. So I redownloaded Star Wars Jedi Survivor on my Series S. Its the first time I've played on the Xbox since May.

Did you play Phantom Liberty in Cyberpunk? It's pretty cool, over 20 hours content, multiple endings.

Story's better than the main game.

No Man's Sky is cheap when on sale, comes with all the recent dlc.

I just sold Ace Prosecuter DS so might pick something up.

I was reading about possible Borderlands 4 performance issues on the Switch 2. However it seems to have issues on all consoles. I've read that its only 30fps where it is 60 on other consoles but not consistently so. I think I will stick with getting the Switch 2 version because Gearbox is making it specifically for that console rather than porting it. I'm not expecting any ray tracing  or other lighting effects and I am ok without it.

I hope BL4 on Switch2 will perform reasonably, because it's the only place I'll be able to play it.  To be fair, I don't feel the need to play it myself, but I've been playing BL2 with my son and he's stoked to play the new one too.

[eurogamer.net]are the Mario Galaxy re-releases really too expensive? eurogamer.net editorial impressions

So what do you guys think? Is $35-40 something a piece to expensive for the rerelease (not remake) of 2 of the finest videogames ever made?

I made the argument in the comments that the real issue is that we as gamers expect all games to sharply drop in price mere weeks after release, which has skewed our value perception and is not beneficial to the industry.  Opinions are divided.  LOL

Considering Galaxy 2 was rereleased on the Wii U for $10, yeah, feels a little too expensive. Of course, the whole Prime Trilogy was $10 as well.

Edit: The Galaxy games even lost some of their textures for the upcoming release.

My local Walmart has had Switch 2 systems available for weeks now. It is so strange to see a new console in stock this soon.

Yeah I definitely think that's too much for the Galaxy games. 20 or even $25 a piece would be fine. The standard price for Wii games on the Wii u eShop was $20. I thought that was a bit much for most of those titles, but it was definitely worth it for Galaxy. Probably should have stuck at that price per game too.

If I'd never played either of those Galaxy games, I'd probably think it was a great deal. As someone who has played them, they're overpriced.

Worked out how to manage the wanted system and factions in SW OUTLAWS, its pretty fun. I love that you can get in the good favours of a group and suddenly you can just waltz about freely in previously restricted areas.

You can also buy info from merchants and sell it to the factions to increase your reputation with them.

I also did my first death trooper wanted mission. You have to first escape the close by enemies. Then what threw me off is the radio chatter as if you're still being chased, you're not.

So you can carefully approach the death trooper camp, use nix to steal a key card. Quite fun.

Also just by chance learned you can run and gun with motion aiming if you hold down the fire button.

Changes the game, not just ADS now.

Don't like the sniper rifle you have to charge though.

Game continues to impress.

Isn't it releasing later in October?

They are/were two of the greatest games ever made and in 4k on Switch 2. So I wouldn't say its unreasonable BUT for me I already have Galaxy 1 on switch. My real issue is that when you buy them separately they aren't half the asking price of both bundled. Seems ridiculous, price gouging.

Skyward sword Switch was a full price game, think it was on Wii U too for cheap.

Any opinions on the other part of my post?

I originally wrote a huge response to this, and then at the fourth paragraph I realized I was just rambling.

So to cut to it, yeah I do think the Atlus Pricing model, of fast and deep price cuts has hurt the industry. I wouldn't call it a debilitating problem, but I can't help but feel there's an audience of people like me who stop buying games at launch and just wait a year or two when they are half the price.

Fast price drops are good for consumers. I'm surprised it's a thing considering how anti-consumer the gaming industry usually is.

I don't buy many full priced games anymore not only because of the quick price drops, but because most games are released unfinished and buggy. I'm not paying for the privilege of bug testing your game. I can wait until it's actually finished to play it.

I think that the Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 collection is a bit too much. Excellent games though and I’ll still buy them at launch.

As for games getting quick price cuts hurting the game industry, I don’t really see that to be honest. The game industry seems to be making more money then ever and a lot of games sell incredibly well out of the gate. Especially from companies like Capcom and Nintendo. Hell I’d be willing to bet that the games that sell the most tend to get the fewest and least drastic price cuts.

Screw that, I want all games to drop in price.

When I look back at the prices of old Nintendo games which never depreciate, its stopped me from picking up certain titles I've wanted to try.

What they have to realise is that curious gamers may buy a game on sale they never would have at full price. Then if they like it they may be there day 1 on the sequel.

But if they never get that entry point, they will never get into the series.
