Been continuing playing Eiyuden Chronicle this weekend. It’s kind of both good and “meh” at the same time. There’s a lot of stopping and talking in the game and most of it tends to be pretty pointless or uninteresting. Story and characters are largely pretty bland. Combat can be a bit frustrating and seems a bit unfair at times with enemies usually targeting already downed characters so unless you revive them with full health they’ll get killed right away again. Bosses sometimes have a “gimmick” to them but they can be random. For instance one boss goes underground and will pop up on either the left or right. If you choose the wrong side then that can end up being a wasted attack. Pretty middling game so far that I’d probably give like a 6.5 to.

I've been playing Another Crab's Treasure.  My GamePass subscription ends on the 26th, but I have no illusions that I'll beat the game by then.  Perhaps I'll sub for one month longer as that'd be cheaper than buying the game.

It's the first shoalslike I play and while I enjoy the setting and the challenge, I've noticed that I perform best when I ban all emotion and just calmly read the tells and get in the flow.  It's a strange experience, to play a game like that, nearly as a robot.  But the setting and writing are enjoyable, so I'm planning to see this one through.

[pushsquare.com]Lots of PS4 Owners Have Yet to Upgrade to PS5 Cross-gen = No Upgrade Required

I'm definitely feeling the same way.  There's still plenty being released for the Xbone, I feel no need to get with the times whatsoever.

I guess it's not only cross-gen, but also the succes of the Switch.  If you're aiming to release on Switch as well, why not also release on last gen home consoles?

This, plus where's the killer apps? Nothing has really wowed me.

Yep. Guilty for all the same reasons. Maybe I'll finally upgrade at the end of the year. Depends if Switch 2 has a Miiverse.

I've been wowed by quite a few PS5 games and I'm glad I bought one. That being said, this gen has seen the least graphical and gameplay leap yet. It's basically last gen but with RT, SSD and added frame rate and resolution options.

Yeah, I’ve been pretty happy with both the PS5 and XSX for those reasons as well. Love the loading times from the SSD’s. Also really like that they can put more assets in the games and ones that have some level of interaction in the environments thanks to the better CPU’s.

Thanks, now I can wipe that off the list.

GGs vehicle got hit by a guy in a black helmet, wasn't me lol. I hope everything gets resolved well GG.

Police have closed the case unless new evidence surfaces.

Really sucks how bikes dont have front face number plates. Cause the guy had a black helmet on they cant even start to look for suspects, hes essentially any white dude.

So if you ever want to commit a crime, wear a bike helmet and cover your licence plate. Nothing will happen to you.

Bought Hitman Blood Money, Vanquish and Wolfenstein the New Order.

Forgot to buy Splinter Cell Double Agent.

Anything I should know about these games? Difficulty spikes, game breaking bugs or anything?

Also saw FF13-II today which I didn't even know existed. Are 10 and 13 the only FF games with direct sequels?

Aww man. First they get koala's and kangaroo's, and now also the stellar Blade LE burger? Not fair, Australia gets all the fun.  🙁

I got the new mini pc and set it up for the normal family computer use.  Which means I am hooking up my graming PC to the TV...

Windows 10 has hated my AMD Radeon 5600 from day one.  It's not decided it does not exists and I don't need the drivers anymore. Fuck Windows!

I am battling it now.

What mini PC did you get? I've been interested in getting one for retro emulation, but I've heard some of those mini PCs come with pre-installed malware, which has made me leary.

Kamrui is the manufacturer. I checked some online reviews and it works great. Not for gaming (though you could stream games on it).  Comes with Windows 11 (some don't so check the details).

Since Monday was still weekend, I'm updating my list with Splatoon3.  I played some yesterday, after a long hiatus and had a good time.  I played some Pro Splatzone games and came out victorious.  Nice to know I still have it.  yes

Nintendo buying Shiver is weird. Their ports aren't even good. They should have bought Virtuous or Saber Interactive.

Saber would have also given them the Snowrunner developer.
